Bab 42: The Overlord of the Universe
Each leader of the Ravagers factions wielded command over a massive number of followers.
The numbers ranged between 10,000 and 100,000. With such a vast army of Ravagers, and numerous faction leaders lost in battle, it was impossible for any one person to personally appease or negotiate their surrender.
Not all were willing to give up their freedom without a fight.
With the spaceship secured, they had a clear choice: activate the engines and escape to the outer reaches of the Liberty Star system.
Once they crossed the jump point, the plan was simple. They would leave the nearby galaxies, steer clear of the Sacred Temple, and pursue a life unshackled by laws or boundaries.
Who would bother to consider the suffering that this 'freedom' might inflict upon others?
As unrest grew among the Ravagers ranks, the subdued leaders attempted to enforce order, but their efforts were overwhelmed by the scale of dissent.
Left with no other options, Caesar took matters into his own hands. He manipulated the gravitational fields to draw the nearby sun closer, bathing the Ravagers fleets in a soothing warmth that they had not felt in a long time.
He then made a calculated display of power by obliterating a few ships that attempted to flee. Witnessing this, the majority of the Ravagerss began to reconsider their opinions of Caesar. They realized he could be both formidable and benevolent, a leader who might actually offer a kind of warmth they could trust.
Those who still yearned for a martyr's freedom met their end on their own terms, while the majority chose a different kind of freedom under Caesar's rule.
Once peace was restored, Caesar directed them to power up the ships and move away from the Liberty system, setting a course for a new life under his leadership.
Afterwards, he boldly dropped the Sun on to the Ravegers base the Liberty Star reducing the planet into ashes.
And made them witness firsthand what lies close to the fourth-order limit—the second-ranked top powerhouse in the universe.
When the twenty-three planets were obliterated earlier, it happened so swiftly that few remained to bear witness.
Neither the Kree Empire nor the Shi'ar Empire would aid him in spreading propaganda.
By merely withholding his information, Caesar couldn't shake off a sense of guilt.
Clearly, everyone was a small partner who had collectively signed a peace agreement. Those who refused to assist would inevitably pose as obstacles.
For instance, in this instance, a considerable number of "disposed" military warships inadvertently found their way onto the black market, only to be purchased by scavengers—a rather unfortunate turn of events.
Because his reputation never met the standard, he remained unable to claim the reward bestowed by the system.
So, this time, he personally fed the star of Liberty to the sun in front of millions of Ravager.
Initially, the intense heat caused the earth to glow bright red, with countless streams of lava erupting. The entire planet resembled a red apple left to wither, riddled with cracks.
Then, as tectonic plates fractured, the sun's immense gravitational pull initiated the free star's disintegration.
A multitude of landmasses were drawn toward the sun's maw, vanishing with little more than a spark.
Piece by piece, bite by bite, until finally, the planet called freedom ceased to exist in the world.
Only the Sun remained, its blaze unyielding.
Those Ravager who beheld this spectacle finally grasped the meaning of strength and fear.
Caesar arranged for the leader of the Ravager to guide the apprehensive group to the Andromeda galaxy autonomously, where they would collectively register as cosmic mercenaries and undergo several months of training tailored to their needs.
He left them to their devices, tearing through space on his own and returning to Luminara Prime.
As for whether the plunderers would abscond or revolt during the lengthy voyage, Caesar hardly gave it a thought.
After all, they had all borne witness to Caesar's might firsthand, even if they managed to flee unscathed.
The image of Caesar pushing the sun to devour the free star would haunt them eternally.
And perhaps, they might inadvertently bolster Caesar's reputation in the distant galaxies of the universe with their tales.
It's a shame that the Ravagers has made it to the top ten in the Cosmic Mercenary Union. But Caesar single-handedly took down 34 factions in a day, which weakened their power. He had to give up his throne, letting the Nova Corps of Xandar take over.
The strength of the Ravagers mainly lies in their faction leaders, who are as strong as Tier 3. But their regular troopers are no match for the powerful civilizations' armies.
Time flew by as they conquered the Ravagers Legion and reached the Andromeda Galaxy. Caesar's feat of destroying the Free Star and dethroning the Ravagers Group spread throughout the universe, establishing his reputation as the overlord.
When Caesar acquired the title, it was supposed to weaken enemies' combat power by 10%, but he didn't feel any change in strength. He wondered how to make it work.
Though eager to test his newfound power, there were no enemies on Luminara Prime. Initiating a fight with the Supreme Intelligence or Doujian would only lead to a space war, which Caesar wanted to avoid. So, he held back, needing time to develop.
Just when he considered finding someone to spar with, Azrael approached him with troubling news. A low-level Angel spreading faith in the Andromeda galaxy had vanished for seven days without resurrection in the Reincarnation Pool. Since Caesar had the highest authority over the pool, Azrael sought his help.
