The Necromonger's hollow eyes stared at him for a long moment, his bony fingers gripping the edge of the shelf as his weathered lips squeezed in frustration.

"Do you not understand that he will kill me?"

Bastopher took a step forward. "I assure you I can tame him. I will not release the Dormant Demon here, but when I do, your life will not be at risk."

Vilgrav struggled with the decision. Selling the Dormant Demon could finally take all the worry and fear off his shoulders, and the price he could get for it would be very plentiful.

But, there were consequences to releasing such a monster to the world. And even if Vilgrav did not care for the Mages, he did not wish to see the world burn.

"No!" his ancient voice rasped. "I refuse. I can not bring myself to sell this Demon to you."
