Bab 153: • Downpour

Seeking higher ground was the first thing they did. They ran as fast as their feet could take them, hurrying to the closest mountain and once they arrived, they began clambering up its steep slopes.

Everything had happened so fast.

The downpour began with a ferocity that was certainly supernatural. Sheets of water cascaded from the sky and utterly drenched them in seconds. The ground, unable to absorb the influx of moisture, instantly turned into mud.

Streams had formed, creating rapid torrents that carved channels through the mountainous terrain. And everywhere was as wet as a tongue, and the water was rising.

Alarming fast.

The ground they had just traversed was now a chaotic series of rushing rivers and deepening pods.

Nero conjured ice at multiple intervals, using it as stepping stones and handholds. They were able to climb higher to the top of the mountain because of this.
