The growling beast could sense his increase in courage and it infuriated it. It lowered its head and slowly began to approach as the Bearer had ordered.

Spheris shrewdly conjured [Embrace Of The Dark] from his outstretched hand and sent the tentacle at the beast.

It dodged the black tendril and clawed forward in attack. Following the rhythm, Spheris raised the shaded knife on his right to strike the attacking beast, however it read this move immediately and leaped at him.

Once again falling for his tricks.

In a flash of a moment, Spheris's left hand unconjured the [Embrace] and induced [Shaded Surge].

The Devourer's eyes moved in that second, seeing the blackish gust coming for it. But there wasn't anything it could do, and with great force, due to it being so close to him, the [Surge] struck the beast and sent in hurling to the ground.
