[Haxxor Bunny: Since you've made your choice, you should bear the consequences. Children don't know their limits. Truly caring for Toriel means not raising a hand against her, no matter what.
Lazy Tree Lover: -_-
Frozen Ice Cubes: ... ]
A strange ID appeared in the chat room, making it clear to everyone present that a new visitor, and a hacker at that, had arrived.
Although the ID seemed slightly different from the others.
The other users responded with silence, as the hacker's behavior was akin to invasion, and capturing them was of utmost importance.
Perhaps Elysia had her own reasons for allowing it?
"Never lay a hand on family? It makes sense, but her behavior of stopping me from advancing is indeed suspicious. Who would completely trust someone at first sight? And you, as the game developer, leaving such a clue in the beginning, isn't that a hint?"
After a brief shock, Cioara calmed down momentarily. Although she didn't know who the Haxxor Bunny was, this emotionally stirring game seemed to be the handiwork of that person.
Damn it, making me play such a game. Now that I've put it down, it feels off. And if Elysia is unhappy, will I suffer?
"Let's continue forward. Since I've made a mistake, I should be cautious from now on..."
Elysia also felt a tinge of sadness, but the game must go on.
Although save-scumming could rectify all mistakes, it couldn't erase the sorrow of committing those mistakes. And the entire game would lose its flavor, with all subsequent plotlines following Toriel's survival path, conflicting with her previous actions and the sight of such an ending feeling discordant.
So Elysia suggested moving forward.
As Cioara controlled the protagonist to leave the basement, upon reopening her character panel, she noticed a glaring level up.
Finally, Cioara sighed and continued forward.
Ahead lay a gloomy forest, and as they walked along the forest path, the atmosphere around them suddenly felt eerie.
"Wasn't there someone behind us just now?"
"Toriel did mention earlier to keep moving forward and not let Asgore catch us. Do you think he'll be waiting at the door?"
Elysia jokingly teased Cioara, while Cioara moved forward silently.
As long as they kept advancing, keep moving forward, they could uncover the truth. In Elysian Realm, such rules always existed, and the game naturally followed suit.
After a short distance, they arrived at a wooden bridge, with a dark figure following closely behind, finally revealing its true form.
"Human. Don't you know how to greet a new pal? Turn around and shake my hand."
The protagonist slowly turned around and extended their hand to shake the hand of the dark figure.
At that moment, a long and melodious fart sound erupted, the BGM paused, and the entire livestream room was filled with an awkward atmosphere.
"What... what is this?"
The sudden change in atmosphere made everyone momentarily forget about Toriel's passing.
Elysia's smile was always so infectious.
"Is this thing a skeleton? Why is the skeleton so chubby?"
Cioara couldn't help but comment, finding the monster in front of her subverting traditional impressions, especially when paired with the lazy BGM, everything seemed relaxed.
[Hehe... The old whoopee cushion in the hand trick, It's ALWAYS Funny. Anyways, you're human, right? It's quite hilarous. I'm sans, sans the skeleton. I'm actually supposed to be on watch for humans right now, ...but you know... I dont really care about caputuring anybody.
Now my brother, Papyrus, he is a human-hunting FANATIC. Hey, actually, I think that's him over there.
By the way, I have an idea. Go through this gate thingy, Yeah, go right through. My brother made the bars too wide to stop anyone.]
With cheerful steps, Sans led the protagonist across the bridge, reaching a clear space next to a roadside stall.
[Quickly, behind that conveniently shaped lamp!]
The protagonist involuntarily walked to the back of the lamp, seamlessly blending in with it.
"Ha! Is this what you call a conveniently shaped object?"
A lamp perfectly crafted to match the protagonist's silhouette, the disguise behind the lamp was so perfect that it impressed Elysia for a moment before she burst into laughter.
Laughter was the easiest way to infect others, even Cioara couldn't help but join in, followed by Eden.
[Lazy Tree Lover: I have to admit, this game developer has quite the knack for the more old humor.
Hypnotic Butterfly: Such a cute game.]
Even Aponia couldn't help but get amused.
In the time spent in the Elysian Realm, countless successors had arrived, but none had brought such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The arrival of Bronie seemed to bring some subtle changes to the Elysian Realm.
Aponia wasn't sure if these changes were good or bad, because she couldn't witness them.
But precisely because she couldn't witness them, she was filled with anticipation.
Because she couldn't see the outcome, she paid attention to the process. Aponia hid in the deepest end, silently observing the development of events.
Next, it was Papyrus's turn to appear.
Accompanied by cheerful yet somewhat ridiculous BGM, Papyrus appeared wearing red armor with a flowing scarf around his neck, giving off the impression of an energetic young man.
[Sans: sup, bro.
Papyrus: You know what's "up", brother! It's been eight days, and you still haven't recalibrated puzzles! You're just hanging around your station, What are you even doing!
Sans: Staring at this lamp, it's cool, do you look?
Papyrus: No! I don't have time for that! What if a human comes through here! I will be the one, I must be the one! I will catch a human!
Then I, the great Papyrus, will get all the things I deserve!
Respect...
Recognition...
I'll will finally be able join the Royal Guard! Then people will ask to be my 'friend'! I'll wi bathe in a shower of kisses every morning!]
"I didn't expect Sans to tease the protagonist like that, but what's with Papyrus? Why is he so cute!?" Elysia was touched by Papyrus's words. This cutie, wanting to become a so-called Royal Guard, all for the sake of making more friends.
"Sans is a bit of a jerk; I didn't expect him to lure us behind the lamp to betray us..." Cioara evaluated, feeling Papyrus's charm as well.
[Upon hearing his brother's words, Sans paused for a moment, then subtly glanced at the nearby street lamp. "Hmmmm, maybe this lamp will help you."
Papyrus: Sans! You are not helping! You lazybones! All you do is sit and boondoggle all day! You're getting lazier and lazier every day!
Sans: Hey, take it easy. I've gotten a ton of work today. A skele-ton.
Papyrus: Sans!
Papyrus burst into laughter at this joke but immediately feigned anger.]
"The master of jokes is still at large here..."
Hiora raised an eyebrow, but her thoughts were all focused on the game. Toriel's regrets, the healing brought by adorable monsters. The two skeleton brothers, like comedians, bantered back and forth, their conversation filled with humor, making their interactions warm and fun.
Unconsciously, a slight smile curved Hiora's lips.
"Distinct personalities, and Papyrus's character setup is quite interesting. I'm really starting to look forward to the plot ahead. All the monsters in the underground shouldn't be bad, right? Even that little flower might have its own reasons."
Eden picked up a glass and poured herself a full glass of wine, enjoying Cioara's gameplay while savoring the light and cheerful background music with a hint of simplicity.
Seeing the continued growth of art in this era was the best external news for Eden. So she thoroughly enjoyed the present moment. Elysia, always capable of bringing surprises to others.
And Eden began to wonder, what kind of person was this new intruder who called themselves a hacker?
Next, Cioara continued to control the protagonist, while Papyrus seemed to have prepared many puzzles ahead.
"Hey, Raven Miss~"
"Oh, you startled me, speak normally, I'm scared, what's up?" Suddenly, Elysia leaned in again, constantly challenging Cioara's courage.
"I was thinking, in such a cute game, even the puppies are adorable. If we give it to Kalpas, could he also be moved? Perhaps that sunshine-shy boy will be a little more lovable?" Eden, who was slightly tipsy, also opened her eyes, as if confirming whether Elysia was serious. The Sunshine Boy hadn't spoken in the chat group so far. He probably didn't care about this. Giving him the game now might result in a beating, right?
"I once played some music for Kalpas, but it seemed like it was just a noise for him. Can he really endure playing this game? I can't imagine it."
"This is always worth a try, right? Maybe it'll succeed!"
"I can't imagine that..."
Cioara paused her gameplay, helplessly covering her forehead. Kalpas' impression on her was too deep, almost giving her PTSD. These memories of repeated deaths and burns almost gave her PTSD.
And at this moment, combining the image of Kalpas, who had already been fixed in her mind as a deva on flames, with the image of a gentle boy petting the dog monster in front of her, it felt like a mental contamination.
And Elysia actually thought it was fine?
Her thought process are so terrifying!
No, it should be said that Elysia, this girl, was really amazing that she could even get along with Kalpas well.
"Hey, Kalpas is just a bit shy, take this!"
Elysis handed a small booklet to Cioara.
"'From Novice to Mastery: 100 Questions about Kalpas' Mask'! What is this!?"
"It's a way to get along with Kalpas, you can easily see how Kalpas is feeling now, and then consider whether to make contact. This is summarized by the lovely and beautiful Miss Pink Elf~, it's very useful!"
Miss Pink Elf sounded just like Elysia!?
"I prefer to complain about the chilling puns in the game."
"In that case, you might hurt the feelings of a beautiful girl~"
"Sorry..."
"Just kidding!"
Cioara was a little embarrassed for a moment, only then did she realize that the person in front of her was an epic hero in history, a deity beyond reach.
But Elysia was like this, always appearing in others' lives inadvertently, quickly closing the distance with sincerity and care.
Elysia smiled mischievously and then said,
"I froze the live feed on the game, if anyone in Elysian Realm doesn't want to play the game and wants to see the follow-up plot, let our successor lead everyone to experience the beautiful world created by another little cutie! Of course, we shouldn't make it too hard for this successor, playing games can also be exhausting, so Miss Raven, if you feel tired, you might as well take a break!"
"So are you really going?"
Cioara still had a little worry that Elysia might be beaten by Kalpas.
"Relax, I'm the deputy leader of the thirteen Flame Chasers! And such a beautiful game, if it's given to Kalpas, he'll definitely be very happy!"
"Well, be careful on your way."
"Thanks for your concern~"
It was then that Cioara noticed the live feed panel left by Elysia. The previous messages on it were all relayed by Cioara.
Frozen Ice Cubes? Is that their Lord Kevin?
What's Hypnosis Butterfly?
But the Green Snake is quite an image, at that time, she almost thought she was really going to be eaten by her, luckily Eden helped her out.
Shining Melody suits Eden well.
But this, Haxxor Bunny, doesn't look like the any of the people she met here.
That's the hacker, right?
But can a hacker really hack into the technological crystallization of the previous era, the Elysian Realm?
This inevitably made Cioara look at the other person differently.
At least according to Elysia, Haxxor Bunny has indeed manipulated the chat room's panel, and even seems to know more information than herself.
Apart from directly accessing the information inside Elysia Realm, no one knows about the deeds of this guy.
But could an evil person make such a gentle game?
Cioara couldn't help but feel confused again.
"Never mind, let's continue the game, let's... after when Papyrus will attack us, okay?"
This chapter Title is weird as only the next has that allusion. Still i kept it.
Schedule is Tuesday and Saturdays.
Deep within the Elysian Realm, amidst the ocean of data and memories, there was always a place that remained unsettlingly quiet.
If one could hear roars, explosions, or raging fires without having to think, then it was certain that Kalpas were present.
However, sometimes even Kalpas had rare moments of quietness.
After all, one's energy is not limitless, and Kalpas also needed some quiet time for solitude.
In this Elysian Realm, memories operated entirely based on the memories and physical habits of the living. They could generate new ideas and give birth to new memories.
Sometimes, Bronie felt that they were no different from digital life forms.
If they were willing to take that step, embrace a completely new life different from their deceased selves, and guiding successors was just an insignificant task in their endless lives, it wouldn't be a bad feeling.
Isn't there a feeling of coming alive again?
But most of the heroes accepted their own deaths, unwilling to return to the real world. They accompanied Elysia, enjoying the infinite silence in that eternal paradise.
However, Kalpas weren't the kind to like quietness. If there was no commotion, if they couldn't feel pain, if there was no burning sensation, he truly didn't have that feeling of being alive.
Therefore, in the Elysian Realm, he either fought against the honkai beasts or tested the successors, repeatedly teaching them the skills that could only be used between life and death.
The inheritance of skills could also be considered as proof of their existence.
Kalpas indeed had such thoughts.
But as Elysia said, Kalpas were quite shy and didn't speak much, so they usually only acted and didn't speak.
A pink elf entered this silent yet explosive area, and the man who kept burning himself immediately noticed the visitor.
"What's the matter? Is there a new successor? Or does that poor little crow want to experience the feeling of being torn apart by me again?"
"Oh my, don't be so angry. A particularly interesting guest has come to the Elysian Realm, and she has brought a very interesting gift."
"Oh? An indestructible puppet?"
"It's not such an unromantic thing! It's a game! Have you heard of it? It's a game based on computers, but it's a childhood memory for many children! It's just that after the subsequent eruptions in our time, no one had the mood to create new games anymore."
"Not interested."
"Come on, it's very interesting! Anyway, you have nothing to do now. If that cute little guest sees you refuse to play this game, she might sadly cry."
Kalpas fell silent, looking at the computer that appeared in front of him, pondering Elysia's words.
A little guest? Cute?
"Why doesn't the newcomer dare to face me?"
Almost all the successors would receive a warm welcome from Mr. Kalpas, but this time it was Elysia who took the initiative, as if she was a protecting someone.
"Because she's just a child. Although I believe you won't harm a child, your usual aura is likely to scare children, isn't it?"
"So you're protecting her? Are you going to bear my attacks for her?"
"It's not like that! It's this! It's a game! Don't talk about unromantic things in front of a beautiful girl, okay?"
It seemed that today's Kalpas didn't really want to fight.
The computer was placed on the Kalpas' lap and surprisingly wasn't destroyed by the flames around his body!
Elysia saw the opportunity and smiled.
"Please, give it a try!"
"Fine, fine, fine!"
"I look forward to your review!"
Indeed, Kalpas was an easily shy person. Upon hearing that it was a game made by a child, he didn't seem to have such a big temper.
Although Bronie had many mysteries, Miss Pink Elf's intuition was probably not wrong. She was indeed a good child.
After bidding farewell to Kalpas, Elysia intended to come to Bronie's side again. However, when she secretly arrived behind Bronie, she saw countless panels around her.
"Hey! What are you doing!"
This startled Bronie.
She quickly closed the panels and looked slightly guilty at Elysia.
"It's nothing, just a little interested in the deeds of the MANTIS Soldiers."
"But sometimes, after meeting them, getting along well, you can feel their true selves more intuitively. It's just that through text alone, you can't feel the weight of their experiences."
Elysia knew that Bronie probably peeked at some data from the Elysian Realm.
Although she didn't know how Bronie managed it, merely reading text couldn't evoke such a vivid sensation.
Bronie's choice of aliases for everyone was actually quite amusing afterall.
"Well... I'll just observe from a distance. I'd prefer to avoid direct interaction."
"Why is that?"
Bronie surprisingly declined to engage with these people, despite presumably gaining substantial insights from the textual information. One would expect Bronie to be more curious. Or daring to go further dive into the mystery of this place
What could prompt this reluctance to interact?
"Because I'm just a hacker, someone who appropriates information to satisfy my own curiosity, not a successor, nor do I possess the zealous drive to resist Honkai."
As members of the World Serpent, they all possessed some degree of sentiment to Honkai, but as someone who emerged from a World Bubble bereft of Honkai, it's uncertain whether Bronie shared that sentiment.
"In truth, everyone comes here seeking transformation, either by spiritual or physical, not necessarily to confront Honkai. Our memories serve as the experiences for our predecessors, offering guidance. Let's view this as a form of exploration, culminating in a delightful encounter, alright?"
"Not for now. Maybe in the future, if circumstances permit."
Bronie didn't outright refuse, but she also didn't commit.
Following Bronie's gaze, Elysia noticed Miss Crow still in the lounge. At Elysia's request, Miss Raven removed her hood.
It seemed she intended to guard her little secret.
"Then it's settled!"
"Perhaps I could install some modules in the Elysian Realm, such as expanding memory, increasing operating threads, and adding networking capabilities? Would you be interested?"
"No!"
Klein promptly interjected, her reaction to Bronie's actions appearing quite strong.
"Um, constructing a live platform or data transmission lines, is that also off-limits?"
Slightly taken aback, but Bronie felt there should be room for negotiation, right?
"This requires the consent of the Flame Chasers. Most people in the Elysian Realm are deceased, and excessive contact with the outside world may lead to unforeseeable changes and memory damage."
However, if the memories were determined to change, to face the future, then alterations were not impossible.
Yet, based on current theories, an excess of complex and voluminous information would thoroughly erase the original appearance of the memories, much like the Ship of Theseus. Eventually, the memories would diverge entirely from those of the past Flame Chasers.
Take Mobius, for example. Upon hearing the words of the successor named Jackal, she initiated an experiment to transform herself into virus-like data resembling the Herrscher of Corruption.
The experiment's outcome resulted in many successors of the World Serpent disappearing completely.
The entire Elysian Realm was in a state of alarm at that time.
"So, if Bronie can establish good rapport with everyone, get acquainted, maybe she'll receive permission! Are you in? I'll be sure to introduce you to everyone~"
Elysia also chimed in, encouraging Bronie to meet everyone, as her keen intuition sensed that Bronie seemed to possess some special ability.
If it weren't for that special ability, Elysia wouldn't know how Bronie bypassed the Elysian Realm's access permit and swiftly mobilized its internal data.
Though Elysia wasn't yet aware of the nature of Bronie's power, she was confident that after spending enough time together, she'd naturally obtain an answer.
"Well... let's wait until Cioara departs the Elysian Realm."
Bronie still held firm to her purpose, to come see Cioara, leave a mark in the Elysian Realm, and even establish a contact point.
Moreover, she aimed to bring the game she developed to the Elysian Realm, allowing Cioara to play and enabling the Flame Chasers to experience it.
"But she won't be leaving anytime soon. Do you plan to keep evading her? Sometimes lies can only be concealed with more lies. When the truth eventually surfaces, the more lies, the greater the repercussions."
Elysia harbored considerable concern over Bronie's approach to interacting with Cioara, and Bronie replied resolutely, "I'll handle my relationship with her myself. I'll manage it appropriately."
Observing Bronie's demeanor, Elysia sensed she was resolute. Despite outwardly appearing gentle, Bronie possessed an inner determination.
Once she had made up her mind, she wouldn't waver.
"I understand."
Elysia recognized the need to refrain from further commentary. Perhaps that was her simply being not forthright. Perhaps she had endured a challenging upbringing.
Not speaking the truth was also a habit born out of self-preservation, which Elysia understood.
The Twilight Street similarly harbored countless children like that.
Upon realizing this, Elysia didn't rush to compel Bronie to meet everyone. However, something suddenly occurred to Elysia.
"Oh right, our memories don't require food, but you visitors do. Miss Raven has companions who deliver daily necessities, but what about you?"
Elysia was genuinely concerned about Bronie, as she might end up staying in the Elysian Realm for a while. If the lounge wasn't available, there were other places she could manage. However, maintaining the daily appearance of a cute girl was quite cumbersome, requiring a separate space and provisions for food and drink.
"I do carry some everyday items with me. As for food, I can create a machine that collects carbon dioxide from the air and converts it into starch. Traveling in the Sea of Quanta isn't always smooth sailing, so I occasionally rely on such methods. Though the resulting food lacks flavor, it's better than nothing, right?"
In Bronie's hometown of Cyber Arc City, she packed all the technology she can as it was an isolated world bubble in the Sea of Quanta, capable of self-sufficiency with a vast cyberpunk city.
The technology within was geared towards survival, even including numerous disaster response plans.
"Is there nothing else?"
"Well... I also have some canned reserves and emergency rations on me, enough to last about three days."
Watching Bronie pull out bag after bag of rations from her jacket, Elysia felt a sense of relief.
"Come on, you should have mentioned this sooner! You're still growing, and you need plenty of nutrition. If we can't find nutritious food, I'll find a solution for you!"
This statement left Bronie bewildered.
What were you just imagining?
Memory entities helping find food?
Without a medium, data could only generate other data, making it difficult to truly impact reality. Currently, everything Bronie saw, heard, and touched was based on the special signals given to visitors by the Elysian Realm, similar to the effects of the Herrscher of Sentience, enhancing the visitors' experience when interacting with memory entities.
However, falsehoods were always falsehoods, which left Bronie confused.
"Don't worry, I won't tell Miss Raven about this! The Elf has her ways, so just look forward to it!"
At this point, Bronie couldn't help but wonder if Elysia was asking Kevin from the real world to deliver takeout.
Surely not?
But with three days' worth of rations, there should be plenty of time to play Undertale.
So Bronie didn't question how Elysia conjured food, but instead found a vacant spot and projected a couch to sit on.
"Oh my! Kalpas is playing a game!"
Elysia had asked Klein to make a few adjustments to Kalpas's computer, so when Kalpas started playing the game, a second livestream automatically opened, all without Kalpas's knowledge.
While Miss Raven began her break, Kalpas, ultimately succumbing to curiosity, couldn't resist.
"I didn't expect it to be real..."
Bronie was also a little incredulous, and in the lounge, Eden, who had left Cioara to rest undisturbed, also received a notification about the livestream.
Suddenly, the chat section of the entire livestream became lively.
Kevin, Su, Eden, Apponia, even Sakura and Hua, all tuned in, along with Mebius, who claimed not to like crowds but was honestly curious.
Even Kosmo and Griseo joined in.
Kalpas, the sunny and outgoing boy, was really playing a game! For everyone in the Elysian Realm, this was quite extraordinary.
"Hehehe, I told you so! Kalpas wouldn't refuse a request from a cute girl~ When I have the chance, I'll take you over to Kalpas's place. Be sure to thank him properly~"
Yeah. Kinda obvious the tone of the first half is weird... Chatgpt kinda does that.
Tone also changed slightly which is annoying but eh, too tired to do it again.
Also, this one wont appear in my P@treon due to being too big, not yet at least. The other two is nearly done so it will have the first 50 chapters available on Monday.
