Bab 37: Celestial Dragons

Four days flew by, and the day for Zavia's plan finally arrived. As usual, Zavia finished his training at the crack of dawn. Drenched in sweat, he took a shower and left the Marine branch office early.

"Rear Admiral Zavia! Good morning!"

Reaching the base gate, he found guards already stationed there.

This wasn't surprising. Although only areas 1 to 29 of Sabaody Archipelago were considered lawless zones, that didn't mean all pirates stayed obediently within those boundaries. Some dimwitted ones who thought themselves invincible and capable of taking on Whitebeard single-handedly would act out with flamboyant displays.

As a result, many marines and civilians suffered. In such situations, civilians were often at a disadvantage.

As for the marines, if they were strong, it wouldn't be a problem. But if they were rookies, their fate was predictable.

Therefore, in a place like Sabaody Archipelago, the marines had to be on high alert at all times, or they wouldn't even know how they died.

"Mm."

With a brief reply, Zavia set off for the lawless zone. It was conveniently located right next to the Marine base.

Today, he was going to do something "big," something so big that the whole world would know about it.

As for the aftermath, Zavia wasn't worried. During this time, he hadn't been idle. Besides his daily training and meditation, he had spent most of his time developing his spatial abilities.

Currently, Zavia could teleport freely within 500 meters, which was his limit for now. He didn't know if he could break through it yet.

As for other abilities like Spatial Sealing/Spatial Lock and Spatial Shatter, Spatial Lock was basically a barrier, and a very terrifying one at that.

It could lock himself, his target, or both of them together in a space of a specific size, and then they could fight inside. It could also be used as a cage to trap the target.

You might say, why not just break it?

Indeed, if it were someone like Garp, Zephyr, Sengoku, or the three Admirals, they could indeed break through the Spatial Lock and escape.

But as mentioned earlier, this was a very terrifying barrier. The reason it was terrifying was that if the spatial wall were to be broken, a spatial turbulence would appear at the broken point, sucking in all matter.

Zavia had confirmed this himself. Once, on the warship, he had cut through the spatial wall in the training room below, nearly causing the entire ship to cease to exist.

Fortunately, Zavia repaired it in time using his spatial powers, and the opening he had cut wasn't too big, so everyone on board survived. From then on, Zavia decided to only use this ability when it was a matter of life and death, and never before that.

Spatial Shatter or Spatial Fracturing was easier to understand. It used spatial power to shatter the space around the target, causing instant death.

When he first developed these two moves, Zavia suddenly felt like he had somehow developed two instant-kill abilities, which made him feel quite powerful for a short time.

There were many other similar abilities, but the most practical one was still Dimensional Slash.

With these abilities, Zavia wasn't worried about not being able to clean up the mess afterwards, namely the bounty placed on him by the Celestial Dragons.

Given the personality of the Celestial Dragons, they would definitely send a large number of marines to hunt him down immediately. But would the marines really pursue him? Or rather, would they have the heart to?

Almost 90% of the marines wished that this Human Auction House would disappear without a trace. The rest were marines who benefited from it.

From this point of view, those marines might intentionally or unintentionally let Zavia go during the arrest process, but Zavia wasn't afraid of some extremists either.

Furthermore, if these weren't enough guarantees, Sengoku and Zephyr wouldn't stand idly by.

They would definitely whitewash Zavia using reasons like how the Human Auction House only harmed civilians and had no benefits. However, all of these whitewashing efforts were pointless!

Zavia could be cleared through these means, but that would go against his original plan. He didn't want to stay in the Navy anymore.

He had already planned his escape route after the success of his plan, otherwise he wouldn't have specifically chosen the time when the Celestial Dragons were visiting.

Back to the main topic, ten minutes after leaving the base, Zavia quickly arrived at the lawless zone.

He was still on the same hill, planning to wait for the Celestial Dragon here. His plan could only be truly executed after Charlos arrived.

However, it was still early in the morning, and Zavia guessed that the guy probably hadn't woken up yet, so he wandered around the lawless zone.

This time, Zavia learned to be smart. Halfway through, he found an empty alley and changed back into his own blue coat. He also put on the gray cloak Vergil wore when he first appeared in Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition.

So along the way, the surrounding pirates still minded their own business, although a few of them found Zavia strange and looked at him with wary eyes.

Ignoring them, Zavia walked slowly down the street, looking like a lost stranger. In reality, he was familiarizing himself with the lawless zone.

Since the lawless zone wasn't very large, it only took Zavia an hour, fifty-seven minutes, and thirty seconds to walk through it all.

"Hmm, there are three roads closest to the Human Auction House, each connecting to a different area." Standing on one of the roads, Zavia began to think carefully.

The lawless zone was connected to three areas: one was the Marine and World Government base, one was an entertainment area with amusement parks, and the middle one was a sightseeing area.

Given the "noble" status of the Celestial Dragons, their starting point on this island would definitely be the World Government base, which was the area Zavia was in.

However, he didn't know which specific Grove number it was. There were too many, and Zavia hadn't bothered to remember them all at the time, only focusing on a few key points.

The problem now was that he just needed to figure out this guy's itinerary. After all, there were three roads to choose from.

No one knew which one the guy would choose. Maybe he would want to go there and back quickly, or maybe he would want to take a detour to find new women.

But the only thing that was certain was that the amusement park route was definitely out of the question. It was too far and time-consuming, and this Celestial Dragon would think so too. So the only options were the Marine base route and the sightseeing area route.

"Well, this is quite simple. As long as there's a situation where all the civilians and pirates kneel down in one of those places, that's the route he'll take."

Sitting on a bench by the street, Zavia came to a conclusion. As for Sakazuki, he was long gone. Three days ago, he suddenly received a mission to quell a pirate riot in the New World and left with a look of disdain and anger.

Thus, the biggest threat to Zavia's plan was gone. Originally, Zavia had planned to take Sakazuki down with him in a mutual destruction if he was caught. But now it seemed there was no need for that.

***

The morning passed quickly, and soon it was afternoon.

Zavia was now standing on the tallest building in the sightseeing area, looking towards the Marine base.

"Hmm, he's finally here? Didn't expect it to be in the afternoon?"

Looking at the ultra-luxurious ship several times larger than a Grand Line warship, with the Celestial Dragons' exclusive flag flying at the top, Zavia knew it was time.

"Then I should get ready too."

The Yamato blade appeared in his hand. Sheathing it at his waist, Zavia leaped off the building and disappeared into thin air.

Five minutes later, Zavia arrived at the center point between the three areas and crouched down to observe the approaching Celestial Dragon.

Although this was the best place to observe, there was a lot of foot traffic. However, the people seemed to not see Zavia, going about their own business.

This was because Zavia used his spatial powers to distort the space around him, and with the bright afternoon sun, he achieved a kind of invisibility effect.

In other words, he used spatial distortion to bend the light rays shining down on him.

After waiting for nearly half an hour, the Celestial Dragon finally arrived at Sabaody Archipelago.

From that huge ship came a fat, disgusting man with a bubble mask on his head and snot dripping from his nose.

He was Saint Charlos, the "greatest" World Noble of the present day.

Seeing the marines kneeling on the ground, Zavia couldn't help but show a sarcastic expression.

(Just this piece of trash, any one of you could take him on, but I guess that's impossible.)

With a silent sneer, Zavia continued to watch the scene.

This Charlos made his entrance in an extremely arrogant manner. He sat on the back of a fishman and had him crawl down.

The fishman under his butt gasped heavily with every step, even coughing violently at times. Although he couldn't hear it, Zavia guessed it from the fishman's appearance.

Perhaps disgusted by the fishman's appearance, Charlos jumped off his back and stepped on his face, cursing incessantly.

After finishing his tirade, Charlos took out a golden pistol from his pocket and pointed it at the fishman's temple in front of all the marines.

The next moment, smoke filled the air, and the fishman who had been crawling on the ground fell.

In Zavia's eyes, the fishman had a smile on his face when the gun was pointed at him, a smile of "liberation."

After taking care of the fishman, the bodyguard in black behind him immediately clapped his hands, and a new "mount" appeared, a tall and muscular pirate.

What followed was the highest-ranking marine officer talking to the Celestial Dragon, but Zavia could only see the forced smile on the officer's face.

After some conversation, Charlos finally set off, taking the route closest to the Human Auction House, the one connecting the lawless zone and the Marine base.

Seeing this, Zavia also quickly got up and ran towards the lawless zone.
