Bab 313: How Not to Protect a Craftsman (1)

Sebastian slipped away from Liam's, Jack's, and their guards' sight, finding a spot where he could observe them without being seen.

He found a shadowy alcove between two buildings, partially obscured by tattered awnings. The building must have been recently made, or at least it wasn't ancient. However, it was ruined in many places.

<I bet the owner is not that affluent…>

The spot offered a perfect point to observe the three guards and allowed the rune master to keep his eyes on them with nothing hindering him. 

"Three guards against the Shadow Vipers? What a joke," Sebastian said. "These guys are as useful as a chocolate teapot in a heatwave."

The Shadow Vipers had many members, and that was without counting the gangs that decided to side with them in this war against the Marauders of Shrosi. There were many people who didn't like the Marauders, but it wasn't like they were the only criminals around.
