Bab 120: Savanna Ruins (12)

Sebastian, Kenway, and the two undead corpses of Calvin and Leo continued to make their way out of the ruins.

Kenway's injuries made every step a labored effort, though the extra support helped.

As they walked, the knight saw the flying moundfang termites that had arrived, their chittering filling the air and sending shivers down his spine.

"Their numbers seem endless," Kenway said, a hint of fear creeping into his voice.

Still, he managed a smile, though it was weakened and full of grief at the loss of his two friends.

Sebastian made no comment, focusing his energy on helping Kenway move forward.

With each step, they inched closer to the exit and the possibility of escaping. While the termites' arrival increased the need for haste, Kenway's wounds forced a slower pace.

The knight continued to make superficial conversation, perhaps to distract him and Sebastian from his injuries and the losses they had suffered.
