The look in his eyes got intense as the seconds slowly went by, making it harder for me to hold his gaze.

Confusion was still swirling in every inch of my mind. I have so many questions to ask, so many things that are currently very unclear.

"What do you remember?" Blaze asked from his position at the doorway. One of his forearms was resting against the doorway as his head cocked to the side.

I exhaled slowly and focused on his question.

"I… I was going to get what I'd have for dinner when– when those vampires…" I trailed off, swallowing the lump at the bottom of my throat.
