Bab 40: A Dark Aura

"Perhaps it is time I checked on Madam,"

Irene said with her gaze on Skye. She was genuinely worried for Nyx, especially knowing that she was drugged. She couldn't find out who did it or anyone to suspect, so she let it go but vowed to be extra careful and watchful from now on.

"Brother," Isabelle called when Skye didn't respond. He was exceptionally distracted, and she didn't know why. Not seeing Nyx even when she proposed to speak with her and now, the woman didn't even come for breakfast and nothing has been taken to her. Skye's behavior now didn't help ease her suspicion either.

"Right. Yes, please do," Skye said, and Irene nodded her head. Isabell looked at him suspiciously.

Did he even hear what she asked? Irene wondered.

"I will have her breakfast taken up to her if she is unable to come down. Please, excuse me," Irene excused herself and went up to look for Nyx.
