"Dad..." Alix whispered coquettishly.

Deep down, the threats pleased her a little bit. She felt warm inside, like a child whose father was waiting outside school on a rainy day with an umbrella in hand.

Lin Qianfan had never done that for her, he had done it for Billi though. If she had grown up under the chairman's care, there was no doubt he would have done it for her.

She felt even closer to her father than ever before and the tears in her eyes increased. Who knew that someday when she got married, her side of the family would actually be packed full of relatives happy for her and she would have a dad walk her down the aisle instead of dragging her like unwanted baggage?

"Dad.." she called him bashfully.

He pulled her in for a hug, understanding what she was feeling.

"Dad knows, dad really knows." he comforted her.
