"But I didn't give your friends any gifts when I met them." she said. 

To her, logic dictated that if he gave her friends meeting gifts, she should do the same for his. "Should we host them all at home one of these days. Your friends and mine. I know Mumu is dying to meet Xiaobo face to face." 

He smiled out of the blue, as if something good had crossed his mind. It wasn't her words for sure because there was nothing funny in what she had just said.

"You don't need to give my friends any gifts. Me on the other hand, I have to make your friends like me so that they can fill me in on all the dirt you are hiding from me. If you run from me in future because you are sulking, they can also give you up and tell me where you are hiding." 

"I should have known that a sly man like you is up to no good." she responded.
