Today marks the day that my life changed. Everything was seen in a new light—my life goals were created. My will to live was constructed. Instead of flowing with life, I decided to become that flow. Today is the day that demon changed me forever and changed my story.

The sky is shrouded in a thick blanket of dark clouds, signaling an imminent storm of thunder. Enzo stands in awe, gazing at a sight that fills him with fear and wonder. Hachiro's aura emanates from his body, rising to the sky like a colossal tornado. Juri is equally captivated by the spectacle, her eyes transfixed on the awe-inspiring energy. Enzo notes how Hachiro's aura is much darker than Argus's from the cave, adding to the ominous feeling of the moment. It's a powerful and mesmerizing display of raw energy that leaves them both speechless.
The demon's voice dripped with contempt as he spoke to Hachiro, "Your power is astonishing. It's a shame you can't control it. Hopefully, the next time we cross paths, you've learned to harness your abilities because you're nothing but a kid throwing a tantrum right now." However, Hachiro didn't hear a single word the demon said to him. His consciousness was lost in the void, a separate and surreal place within his own mind. It was a place of emptiness, where reality was distorted, and time had no meaning. Meanwhile, Hachiro's body was currently driven solely by instinct and an overwhelming surge of anger.
Hachiro's wings flapped with ferocity as he leaped into the air, delivering a fierce punch to the demon. The impact of his blow created a deafening shockwave that shook the base, sending dust and debris flying everywhere. As the dust settled, Enzo's eyes widened in disbelief. "That demon is a monster," he stated, as he witnessed the demon was unfazed by the blow. The demon grabbed Hachiro's wrist and forcefully pulled his arm down, freeing his fist from his face. Hachiro was then pulled towards the demon, who then landed a powerful punch on him. As a result, Hachiro was hurled into the base wall, shattering it into pieces.
Hachiro crawls out of the rubble, still surrounded by that sinister aura, while the demon slowly approaches. Hachiro holds out his hand as he stands up and forms a black and red ball of energy. He then throws it at the demon, who holds out his finger, pointing it at the ball of energy coming at him. As the energy makes contact with the demon's finger, it disperses on impact. The demon then casts a crystallized cage around Hachiro, using his Diamond Prism ability. "I'm sorry, I'd love to fight for longer, but those Guardians are bound to come any second now. So today, I humble the Forbidden Child; tomorrow, you'll follow the path I've forged."
The demon raises his arm.
{Claymore} the demon utters. The ground underneath Hachiro implodes, the crystallized cage shatters and clouds of black smoke rise to the sky as that side of the base seemingly flattens.
"Nooo!!" Juri shouts.
Hachiro falls face-first into the dirt as his dark aura and wings fade. The demon then begins walking towards Hachiros's body.
"BACK AWAY!" Enzo shouts as he slashes his swords at the demon to no avail, and the demon slides back to evade his attack. "I was wondering when you two would show yourselves," the demon says as he gazes upon Juri, healing Hachiro as Enzo stands guard.
"Hachiro, get up! Get up, Hachiro!" Juri shouts as she shakes Hachiro's unconscious body.
The demon noticed Enzo's blades and chuckled. "Utopian blades? How'd a mere human get a hold of such artifacts?" The demon asked. "These blades were gifted-"
"That was rhetorical; I could care less," the demon says, cutting Enzo off. "Lesson Learned for you, though. Next time, mind your business." The demon lifts Enzo with a levitation ability, suspending him in the air. "I-I can't move." Enzo struggles.
{Underworld Gateway} the demon enunciates as he points his hand behind him. A portal starts to be constructed as gusts of winds begin to blow in their direction. The demon starts to walk towards Juri as Enzo watches from above.
"Run, Juri, get away from here!" Enzo shouts. Juri looked up at the demon and asked, "Why? Why are you doing this?"
"Juri, stop asking questions and run!" Enzo shouts again. Juri stays put and continues to heal Hachiro.
The demon turns his head sideways and states," I'm doing what's best for these accursed realms. What I'm doing now must be done." The demon then pushes Juri off of Hachiro, grabs him by his hair, and drags him to the portal. "Wait, stop!" Juri begs. The demon looks over his shoulder and proceeds to toss Hachiro into the portal.
"Damn it!" Enzo shouts in despair. "Oh, don't worry, he'll be fine." the demon tells Enzo with a smirk.
{By the Gods, Flame in Light. Disperse.}
The demon eyes down Juri as she points a purple ball of energy at the demon. "Die!" she shouts desperately. The blast hits the demon head-on.
Wait, did she get him? Enzo questioned.
The smoke clears, revealing the unscathed demon. "You, Lavandula, are the weakest gods of them all. If it wasn't for your house's ability to unlock Ki limiters, you'd all be useless! I should thank you though. You helped the boy finally understand what he is. Which means your place in this story ends here." The demon grabs Juri by her neck and lifts her up. He forms his dagger in his other hand and starts his driving thrust towards Juri's stomach.
{Arctic Mist} winds and ice shoot from the distance, freezing everything in its path. The demon quickly notices the attack and drops Juri, narrowly avoiding being frozen. However, the mist stops at Juri's feet, leaving her unharmed and unfrozen.
Captain Rona suddenly appears in front of Juri. "Are you alright?" He asked. "Yeah." She responds.
What the hell, Rona has powers? Enzo questions.
"He threw Hachiro into that portal," Juri tells Rona. Rona looks down at the dirt and sighs. "I failed him. I should have told him the truth from the beginning." Rona says in guilt.
"So the Great Rona has decided to make his appearance. I assumed Olon killed you since you've been hiding for this long." The demon mocks.
"You've had powers all along, Rona…are you a fallen angel too?" Enzo asked. "Fallen angel!" The demon laughs. "That man is far from it." The demon states.
Rona smirks.
"Your general was defeated by that one up there." The demon looks up at Enzo. This human defeated Olon? I suppose that's possible with the power of Utopian blades. He thinks to himself.
"I took out the rest of those so-called "soldiers" of yours on my way here. They were low rank for a reason, correct?"
"Trying to figure me out. Great one." The demon laughs again, clearly mocking Rona. "And so if they were, knowing wouldn't change a thing."
"I see through your husk," Rona tells the demon. The demon stops laughing on the spot and turns his head sideways. "That head tilt tick of yours never changes," Rona tells the demon.
The demon stares Rona down—{Death seeker.} The demon utters as four purple and black orbs appear above him. He waves them forward, now seeking their target. "Olon might have failed, but I'd never." Rona slowly backs up as the orbs approach. "Your idiocy is why this has taken as long as it did. A demon wants to play angel and take a main player away from the game. Well, no longer. All you did was delay his truth. Clearly, playing angel doesn't fit for you. You've failed miserably trying to keep him locked up in a shell! This prison Earth! I set him free of his shell! I set him free from this prison! I am the reason he knows who he is! I planned this all out for him! His life would have been useless if it hadn't been for me!" The demon preached.
Don't tell me…. Was I a player in his game all this time? Some pawn to activate Hachiros's hidden potential, Juri thinks.
"He didn't need to know!" Rona shouts back. "Why…Why! Why are you so…fixated on him? You know what he could potentially become. Why have another? Why are you willing to risk the possibility of more senseless violence? Have the realms not gone through enough pain? Why don't you want the realms to refind peace?"
The demon stops walking. He holds his hand out, stopping the orbs. He takes a step and appears to disappear out of thin air. "You want to know why?" the demon whispers behind Rona.
"I find peace in violence." The demon wraps his arm around the neck of Rona and slides his dagger through his back, impaling him.
"Forward," he commands the orbs as they float towards Rona and the demon. "You are such a disgrace to our kind," the demon tells Rona.
"I might be a disgrace, but only because I could only save one of them." Rona points and smiles as Juri looks back from the portal entrance. "You damn brat!" The demon shouts at Juri. {Close!} the demon shouts, trying to disperse the portal, but it is too late. Juri jumped into the portal, hoping to find Hachiro on the other side.
The orbs finally made contact with Rona's body. However, as soon as all four orbs passed inside him, his internal organs began to shut down one by one. It was an excruciating pain that Rona decided to endure in order to save Juri. Despite the unbearable agony, he smiled through it all, knowing his plan had worked.
The demon watched as Rona faded. He dropped him where he stood. "Pitiful," the demon said. Then, the demon walked over to Enzo's suspended body. "I guess the human is the sole survivor, ironically."
"Shut up. If you're going to kill me, do it now. Please, though, use those blades. I'd love to die to the blades that are so meaningful to me." Enzo stares into the demon's eyes.
"You mean every word. Strong human." The demon replies. {Release.} Enzo drops down to the ground onto his knees and looks up at the demon.
The demon grabbed the swords and pointed one at Enzo.
Slice.
Enzo opens his eyes to find blood dripping from his forehead. The demon had used the blade to cut him. "I won't kill you. Instead, how about an offer?" The demon opens another portal and drops the swords. He then points at three glowing lights moving at an extraordinary pace. "Those guardians cover up any anomalies. Believe me when I say you don't want to be around when they arrive." The demon walks through the portal, and it begins to shrink.
Enzo stares at the blades. "Why is this happening?" he questions. He stands, grabs both swords and walks through the closing portal.
****************************************************************************************
*The Void*
"Just like that.
It was so easy for him.
I can't believe I'm that weak. I thought I was strong—the strongest.
Right?
That couldn't have been me.
No way, that was me.
Was that me?" Hachiro asked.
"I'm afraid so.
With power like that, you won't ever get revenge for me." Danny says to Hachiro.
"I'm…sorry.
I'll get stronger." Hachiro replies.
"I know you will. After today, we both know you have no choice. Claim what they wanted to keep you away from. Grab strength by the throat and become more significant than it.
No distractions.
No limitations.
You will be the strongest.
And you will get your revenge for me. Your real family." Danny states.
"No distractions…no limitations," Hachiro repeats.
"It's…it's so warm now," Hachiro claims.
"I see; you're finally waking up. Maybe we'll meet again…Hachiro."
The comforting warmth of the flames engulfs Hachiro as he slowly opens his eyes. He thinks to himself with a smile on his face, "I could stay here forever."
Juri walks over to Hachiro and kneels down. She puts her hand on his chest and says, "You're finally up."
Hachiro jumps up in defense. "You damn demon!—Juri?" As Hachiro looks around, he realizes that he has been transported to an unfamiliar terrain. The sky above is a deep shade of red, with an array of dazzling stars shining brightly. The environment around him is dominated by tall, burgundy plants and trees that tower over him, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. The cornfield-sized plants rustle in the gentle breeze, and he can hear the faint sound of leaves rustling in the wind. Hachiro takes a deep breath, taking in the new surroundings.
"Where the hell are we?" Hachiro asked Juri. You should lay back down, Hachiro," Juri responded. Hachiro looked into Juri's eyes and did the opposite. He stood up, grunting from the soreness of his last battle.
"Where are we, Juri?" He asked again.
Juri takes a deep breath and looks at Hachiro with a severe expression. "We are in the Underworld of Utopia," she tells him.
Hachiro walks forward and takes a closer look at the strange plants growing in front of him. They are unlike anything he's ever seen before. Their leaves are a bright shade of red, and their stems are long and thin. Some of them have flowers that glow in the dim light of the Underworld.
"Plants in the Underworld? What is this? I was expecting seas of flames and lava, gigantic cathedrals, and castles, but instead, I see plants and red grass."
Juri nods. "The Underworld is not what most people expect it to be. It is a place of life as well as death. These plants have adapted to the unique conditions of this world, just as the creatures that live here have."
"I know it must be hard knowing you've been taken away from your home," Juri tells Hachiro.
"Home?" Hachiro uttered. I thought it was a home, but I was wrong. It was more like…a cage that I've finally broken free from," Hachiro said to Juri.
"Hachiro…that's— why do you feel that way? I thought you saw the base as your home, the people your family." Hachiro turns and walks over to Juri.
"A family wouldn't hide secrets from you. They'd tell you the truth and only the truth." Hachiro says as he stares into Juri's eyes.
"Rona was just trying to protect you, Hachi—"
"And look what that got me!" Hachiro interrupted. "Stranded in the middle of nowhere in the realms Underworld while he gets to stay on Earth like nothing ever happened."
"Hachiro, stop!"
Hachiro notices a particular expression on Juri's face and wonders why she looks that way. He asks her about it, and Juri, trying to hold back her tears, reveals that Rona, someone who barely knew her, sacrificed himself to save her life. She tells Hachiro that Rona died so he wouldn't be alone. Hachiro is taken aback by this news and sits by the fire, watching the ember pop and crackle.
"The same demon that killed the frontline members, the same demon that abducted me, the same demon that caused all this chaos is who killed Rona. All of this is because of him, even the death of Danny." Juri places her hands on Hachiro's shoulders.
"They cared about you. They were your family, Hachiro." A tear drips from Hachiro's eye.
Everything…was a blur…I saw Danny's lifeless body. I held him. Then, glimpses of me fighting that demon. That's all I remember. Just bleeps of visions. Visions of that fiendish demon. Visions of that devilish smile. Hachiro thinks to himself.
That. That.
"That damn demon!" Hachiro shouted, his blood boiling. A dark black aura began to flow upward from him. Juri took a step back, sensing his anger and confusion. "I understand that this can be overwhelming, but please take a deep breath and try to relax," Juri said in a gentle and empathetic tone, hoping to calm Hachiro. He turned to look at her, and she gasped.
"His right eye's pupil is glowing red, which means his demon side is leaking out. Is he becoming unstable?" Juri asks, worried. She slowly walks back towards him and reaches out to hug him. However, as soon as she touches him, she yelps in pain because the devilish aura emanating from him burns her.
Juri's yell caused Hachiro to snap out of his rage. The aura disappeared, and his eyes returned to their normal state. "I'm sorry, Juri. I didn't mean to," he said. "I'm fine. I can heal myself, remember?" she replied. The two looked at each other, and Juri cracked a smile. "This is kind of awkward," Hachiro said, turning red. "I think it's fine," Juri responded with a smile. Hachiro nervously pushed Juri off of him. "Um, sorry. We were so close for so long," he said frantically. "It's ok," Juri replied with a smile.
"What now?" Hachiro asked. "I'm still determining myself. I'm not too familiar with the Underworld," she responded. Well, I want to kill that demon, so I need to find a way to get stronger," Hachiro stated. Maybe we should just relax for right now. We need to get the layout of this land. I think you should focus on that before getting stronger," Juri replied.
Hachiro gets a vision of the void and what was said to him.
"No distractions. No limitations."
"I don't need to settle down. I need to become stronger. There is no time for relaxation, only training and growth," Hachiro demands. "I understand, Hachiro, I really do, but we are in the Underworld. This place is the most evil and sickening realm there is. We must settle down or at least find a way out of here. We can't just be out in the open like this," Juri says.
"You know...the girl has a point," a voice echos from the trees. You don't know who might be lurking." An arrow made of fire flew from the trees. Hachiro thinks fast, focuses his ki into his hand, and swings the arrow away, deflecting it into the sky. He grabs Juri and brings her close to him.
"Would you look at that? The boy has some pretty good reflexes." A man with a black "X" tattooed under his eye drops from the trees. You should show me that little trick again. You know, the one where you get angry and start oozing dark Ki."
"What's your issue?" Hachiro asked the man. What's my issue? Ha! Mister tough guy."The man snapped his fingers, and another arrow materialized above his head. It quickly shot towards Hachiro and Juri. Reacting quickly, Hachiro grabbed Juri and flashed to the side, successfully dodging the arrow. As a result, the arrow exploded a few feet away from them.
"Dammit Taka! You said you wanted to kill them, so kill them. Another voice comes from the tall plants. A woman walks from the plants with short red hair and an "X" tattooed under her eye just like Taka. "Well, you know I like to play with my food a little," Taka responds. "That's quite the opposite of what you like to do. Just admit you can't hit him." The woman says to Taka.
"You shut your mouth, dammit!" Taka shouts. "Reed's got a point, plus, I felt it. You tried to kill him with that second shot." A colossal demon appears from the opposite side of Reed. "Really Krotos…" Taka says as if he was betrayed.
Hachiro and Juri look at each other blankly. "Who the hell are you people?" Hachiro asks. Krotos looks down at Hachiro and Juri and says, "We only tell our names to our enemies on their last breath. So I'll tell you in a minute."
"Are you suggesting that you could kill us," Hachiro asked. Krotos's eyes start to glow red, and a gigantic axe forms in his left hand. He says, "Those words were absolute."
"Those words are "absolute" bullshit. I'll never die until my revenge is fulfilled." Hachiro says as his eyes begin to flicker red. Hahaha, Taka laughs. "I love people like you. People like you think they're hot shit until they're dead. Well, reality check, buddy. A dead man that was "badass" when he was alive is still a dead man, you roach."
"He's right, kid, and the girl doesn't look much like a fighter. You're outmatched," Reed says as she licks her hand.
She's right; I am outmatched. Even though these guys aren't on par with that demon in strength, they are strong. I don't think I can take them on alone, but I have to find a way.
"Everyone unbend." Echos, another voice from the trees. No way there's another one, Hachiro thinks to himself. A slim man with royal blue hair floats down from a tree with his eyes closed. He had the same "X," but it was embedded into his skin. Under his eye, it was also more significant. He wore a black pair of glasses and a gold necklace around his neck with a gold pendant of a circle with an X in the middle.
"Though everyone might not but be so eager to fight, I must withhold this conflict." The man says. The three back off from Hachiro as the man walks past them and stands before Hachiro and Juri. He looks at Juri and says, "This one is intriguing. Those purple eyes and her purple hair, such a quaint color." The man says.
"Back off, weirdo," Juri says to the man. No, no, not weird. Observant. The hair from your roots is also purple. Thou color is natural, yet it is unnatural here. Which means thou is the spawn of Lavandula. Be I correct?" Juri doesn't respond to the man, but her body language is enough for him to know he is right.
"A Lavandula in the Underworld. The weakest and softest deities there are. I see that those angels are still using your house for those limiters." Taka mocks. "How did such a delicate thing get sent down to the Underworld, huh?" Reed asked. "Yeah, someone like you could never possibly cause a threat for a Lord to banish you." Taka laughs.
"It is very intriguing," said the man. He looks at Hachiro and then back at Juri. "I want the girl alive; hurt her if u want, but kill the boy." The man demanded. He walks back towards the group and passes them once more as the three advance towards Hachiro and Juri.
"Go over by the trees and watch," Hachiro demanded. Why would I do that?" Juri asked. That guy seems to be their leader, and he wants you alive. So go over there and watch; I'll be fine. You don't need to get hurt here," Hachiro replied. I'm not letting you fight alone, Hachiro; we are fighting together."
"Aaagggghhh!" Krotos roars as he slams down his mighty axe, creating a smoke screen. A series of fiery arrows shoot from the smoke. Juri watches as an arrow approaches her, but she is too slow to react to it. The arrow, an inch away from her face, gets deflected by Hachiro. Hachiro deflects the rest of the arrows with intense speed.
"Pathetic," Reed whispers into Juri's ear, and she wonders how Reed got behind her. Suddenly, Reed punches at Juri's back with a claw-like weapon with two blades attached to her hand. The blow would have penetrated Juri's back if Hachiro hadn't flashed to get her out of the way. Unfortunately, Hachiro couldn't evade the blow completely, and his arm was slightly gashed.
"Hachiro, I am sorry," Juri apologizes.
"I SAID WAIT!" Hachiro shouted as a blast of Ki emitted from his body in rage. The explosion of Ki forced Juri onto her back and pushed the three attackers back a bit. Juri looked up at Hachiro and noticed that his right pupil was red, and the hair on the crown of his head was now black. "I—Hachiro," Juri stumbled with her words in fear.
"Shut up and move! You're a distraction," Hachiro said as he stepped over Juri on the ground and started walking towards the group. Juri looked at Hachiro as she trembled. "He's... he's losing it," a saddened Juri thought to herself.
"That little power-up won't save you, kid!" Taka shouts. Krotos looks into Hachiro's eyes as he approaches and says, "That's a different person than before, Taka. Be cautious."
That shift in the atmosphere—this kid definitely is the source of that dark energy—it's all cradled up inside him, the man with glasses thinks to himself.
"TO HELL WITH YOU ALL! TO HELL!" Hachiro shouts as he sprints towards the ground. "Again!" Krotos shouts. He slammed down his axe, creating another smoke screen. "Barrage!" More fire arrows of Taka fly through the smoke at more intense speeds this time.
"Here I go!" Reed says as she runs through the smoke, scanning Hachiro's position. "Got ya!" She pinpoints his location and prepares her claws. As she emerges from the other side, Reed gasps.
As she ran through, she locked onto Hachiro's eyes. He tracked her the whole way through as she tried to reach his back. Their eyes locked for what felt like an eternity. Hachiro was too quick for Reed and reacted as such. He quickly forced his Ki into his fist, forcing it to glow. He cocked back his arm and threw it at Reed. Reed's life flashed before her very eyes as she watched a fist of pure fury inch closer to her face.
"Chain prison."
The sound of rattling chains echoed from tree to tree. Two Chains slithering from the distance like snakes wrapped around Hachiro from his chest to his knees and lifted him into the air.
"Siphon."
Ahhhhhh! Hachiro cries out in pain. Ughh! Ugh!
A man with dreaded hair wearing a black sleeveless vest walks from the woods. The man has red hot chains wrapped around his forearms that lead to Hachiro. Reed looks at Hachiro in shock as she thought her life is over.
"You lead me no choice but to step in, Reed." The man says. "I'm sorry… I underestimated him." She replies. UGGHHH! Hachiro screams as he charges up his Ki to break free from the chains. "You won't break them." The man tells Hachiro. "And the more you charge up your Ki, the more pain you'll be in, so I suggest calming down." The man tells Hachiro. "RELEASE ME!" Hachiro continues to attempt to break through the chains to no prevail. UGHHHHH!
"Type like him never listen." The man says as he shakes his head.
"So, outlaw, what do you think?" Asked the man in the glasses. "Really, Karasu, a fake accent. I ordered you to check if spies were nearby after we detected that dark energy. You instead provoked the kids and didn't even interrogate them," Outlaw said to Karasu. I'm sorry, but when I saw the Lavandula, I got a little excited and went off course." Karasu explained.
Outlaw sighs and says, "Your decision almost got Reed killed moron." Hachiro calmed down as the two talked. He had a gut feeling that he wasn't in danger anymore.
"So, are we killing the kid or not?" Taka asked Outlaw. "I'll decide what we'll do to the kid. Plus, you tried to kill him already and couldn't, so I think you need to reevaluate yourself. We have an important operation soon, so you need to check the speed of your arrows. Taka smacks his lips and exhales in irritation. "Krotos, your inexperience in leading is showing. The same attack sequence... seriously?" Krotos gets on his knee and bows. "I sincerely apologize for my inexperience, sir. I did sense the change in the atmosphere after the first attack, but only informed them that instead of changing up." Krotos replies. "You're fine, Kro. Just remember you're taking the lead on this operation. You can't freeze up like that during the real deal." Outlaw informs.
"Girl by the trees," Outlaw called out. "Yes," Juri responded. What is your name?" Outlaw asked. "Why do you want to know?" Juri responded. "Relax, I assure you we aren't out to hurt you," Outlaw told Juri. So why the hell did you guys attack us? And why the hell am I still Hanging here!" Hachiro shouted from the top. "That wasn't how this was supposed to go. Karasu and I sensed a dark energy from our hideout, so I told him and the others to investigate. Since they took so long, I decided to come by myself and watch what was happening." Outlaw explained.
"That energy is deep inside you," Outlaw pointed at Hachiro's heart. Juri looked down at the ground and sighed. "I promise, sir. He's not an evil person," Juri tells the Outlaw. Outlaw looks up at Hachiro and takes a deep breath. "Karasu, make a portal to the hideout," Outlaw demanded. "Yes, sir." Karasu creates the portal using his Ki. "Everyone goes back and proceeds as normal. Except Karasu, you stay with me." Outlaw tells the group. The three walk into the portal, and it closes. "You must be ready to discuss your assessment," Karasu says. "I am," Outlaw responds.
Outlaw looked at Juri and noticed her head was still down. She must be upset because of the boys' actions towards her. He thinks to himself. "I overheard a little detail when you were speaking with the other three members. You seek revenge, is that right?" Outlaw asked Hachiro. "A demon in black. He abducted her from her home. He terrorized my comrades and my home with a merciless attack. All because of me, he says. I will find that demon and do as he did to me. I want his comrades to be dead. I want his home to be destroyed. Then I'll look him in the eyes and kill him. I want to be the last thing he sees." Hachiro vows.
"Well, then, I have a proposal for you. You'll band with us, Team X. You'll listen to me and Karasu and go on our operations as needed. In return, we'll shelter you and train you so you can get stronger and face the demon you speak of. And that goes for both of you. Does this sound like a deal, demon child?" Outlaw asked Hachiro.
It would be nice to get some training in, but there's no way I will do their bidding just to train. I could possibly find other people to help me train and even find shelter without doing these so-called operations. "I appreciate the offer, but I think Juri and I can care for ourselves," Hachiro responded.
"You don't really have a choice in the matter." Karasu tells Hachiro. "What? You just gave me an option." Hachiro argues back. "Yes, but Outlaw told you our group name. If you don't remember, I'll enlighten you. Our Krotos told you that our name is mentioned only on our enemies' dying breath. You can't know our name and expect to live." Karasu tells Hachiro. "Then why would you say the name? You couldn't have possibly thought I would just be on board with this proposal." Hachiro argues.
"Don't misunderstand the offer or us. We are not good people. This wasn't some kind of generous offer. This is an option of being dead or alive. I've killed millions. I've even killed children younger than you. Killing another child won't hurt my reputation. My reputation has already been drug through the ground. You come along, or I'll kill you now and take the girl so Karasu here can do what he wants with her." Juri gasped. "What...what do you mean by that?" Juri asked.
"Karasu is intrigued by you. I don't know why, but he is. So, whatever he wants to do to you, he'll do so, whether that's violating your body or running experiments on you and figuring out the secret to your Ki. Whatever he thinks of is possible.
Understood.
I could care less what happens to you, but someone like you, Hachiro, intrigues me. I'm interested in that dark Ki of yours—Ki in which darkness grows so deep that I want to see how strong it can get. Or a Ki in which it's so dark that it's best to kill you now. So, what will it be? Will you join X, or will you die here and allow the girl to be violated in ways unimaginable? The choice is yours.
Child.
