Bab 323: We Will Find Her

As he waited for his friends' arrival, Jace went back to pace outside Wendy's apartment.

Fear gnawed at him as his mind raced through possibilities he dared not entertain. 

Twenty five minutes later, when he spotted Bruce's car approaching, he let out a deep

breath and walked over to them. 

He barely gave them a chance to cat he their breath as he said, "I can't find her."

"Do you think Wendy might be hiding her in there?" Todd asked, glancing toward the apartment as if Grace might mistakenly appear any second.

Jace shook his head "No," he muttered in a voice rough with frustration. "She looked genuinely surprised when I asked her about Grace. It's quite obvious Grace didn't come here or speak to her. But it's just not like Grace to do something like this," he said in exasperation.
