Bab 311: The Deserved Punishment

"Babe, don't try to act tough because of your kind heart. You went through a lot today, but as the 'good aunt' of the woman who orchestrated all these, who do you think Mom's affection will tilt to?"

"She wants me to turn a blind eye on the wicked actions of someone who didn't bat an eyelid in plotting against you. They would have even done worse things if not for my timely intervention… all because we are … family," Jace finished with such disgust that Grace found her own nose unconsciously turning up.

"I have no intention of…"

"Mom, let's not pretend. That's why you came here, isn't it? You said it just now, remember," Jace reminded Rose cruelly, giving her no way out.

"I'm sorry,  but I can't help but feel that despite all the sacrifices Grace has made for this family and how you claim to love and want her to be part of this family, she is still nothing compared to the people who have been nothing but a pain in the ass in our lives all along."
