She felt his hand move to her cheek, felt his thumb trace her jawline in a way that always made her feel seen, I mean, really seen and all of a sudden, her eyes welled up, but she blinked quickly, not wanting to show how much his words affected her. "You're really making it hard for me not to argue with you, you know that?"

"Good," Jace said with a smirk. "Because I'm not above using every trick I have to keep you close."

Grace was speechless. So this is what all this is about. He just wanted him around so he could see her whenever he wished. 

"But more importantly, you need to start working on being that woman that can boldly stand beside me on equal footings as my woman."
