Bab 293: You Don’t Need To Appologize

"Grace isn't bad," he said in a small voice that carried a conviction far beyond his years. "She is good. She loves Charles and I love her."

The room fell silent and for a brief moment, even Clarissa's sharp tongue was stilled by Charles's words. 

Grace, on the other hand, felt her throat tighten with inexplicable emotion at the innocent declaration from the boy she had now grown so fond of.

He was always defending and standing by her no matter who it was that tried to make things difficult for her… such love wasn't easy to come by and she wasn't going to trade it for anything.

She saw Clarissa blink, her icy facade cracking just for a moment as she looked at her nephew, but it was quickly replaced by a cold, dismissive glare.

"How touching," she heard her say. "But what do you know my dear nephew. You're still too young to understand anything."
