"Sir, Charles will soon wake up and will be needing me at home."

"That makes the two of us because I need you also."

"What?!" Grace's eyes widened in shock.

"Don't be too shocked Ms Fowler. It's not in the way you're thinking," Jace said so casually that Grace's face flushed in embarrassment.

From the corners of his eye, he saw her lower her head and was thrilled. It's like this was the best way to shut her up and he was quite surprised that he enjoyed seeing her like this. At the same time, he found her action rather cute.

He shook his head, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

"What I mean is that, I need you to be safe for Charles. How do you think he will feel if something were to happen to you? I would not be able to pacify him in this lifetime," he added jokingly and he was rewarded with a shy smile from Grace.
