Xavier raised his eyebrows and said. "My name is Xavier, only the former soldier decided to live in a remote village. My job is to guard the village and collect medicinal plants. I can't obey your request to defeat the Demon Lord. Basically, I'm just a normal human being and in this world, no human being is superior to the devil." Xavier refused the woman's request.
"You know very well but why offer me help?"
"Because you look pitiful. Look at your dirty clothes and a lot of tears. Even I can almost see your belly and thighs. I can't let my fellow humans be abandoned, let alone you are a woman and lost in the woods near our village."
"I don't need any other help. My arrival is nothing but seeking help to defeat the Demon Lord. Our dwellings were seized by them and for the first time in history, the demons were able to defeat the gods."
"Of course. In any case, everyone will know that I am a goddess. What have you been thinking about since just now, stupid human?!"
Xavier rubbed his forehead, he couldn't believe he could see a goddess from Heaven appear in a dark forest. "Forgive me. This is the first time for me to be asked for help by a goddess. Since childhood, I have always lived in a place where the inhabitants do not trust gods. I know the gods must be around us but only a few believe in their existence."
"I don't know anything about your problems either. Humans have their own limits and it sounds strange for perfect beings to ask for help from the weak."
"Keep babbling, human. We don't care what you guys do as long as it doesn't disturb the tranquillity of the gods. Now, I ask you to help us, the gods, to defeat the Demon Lord." The goddess looked hasty, to the point of pulling Xavier's hand.
"I can't. I have promised the villagers to protect this village until I can't walk."
"Huh? You mean, you dare defy the orders of one of the goddesses in front of you after we take care of you and your ancestors?"The goddess advanced her chest while squeezing her waist.
"If that's true, then why? A promise is still a promise, I will fight if anyone dares to bother me to cancel our agreement. Not Even A God." Xavier answered firmly and boldly. His gaze was completely dazed and he clung to the written promise they passed.
"You will accept my torment, human!" The goddess retreated for a moment and then opened and faced her palms as wide as her chest. Slowly a small white light appeared and grew bigger and bigger like a dense bowling ball. "Take this punishment... Eh?"
The goddess realized her hands were clasped very tightly by Xavier. Instantly, the energy that produced the light went out in seconds, and now the human side has the superior position.
"I just found out that gods have supernatural powers. What is the ability that causes rain, earthquakes, and landslides on our earth? You just talked about the tranquillity of the gods, but you turned out to be a frequent ruin of our earth."
"Let go of my hand, you fool! Don't you dare touch me or I will be furious!" The goddess used her teeth to bite her gripping hands.
Ouch!
Xavier grimaced in pain, rubbing his thick hands and giving her a little space. He didn't believe a goddess could do something that a woman used to do when she was cornered.
"You'd better listen and obey my requests, human. Demon Lord is a very greedy creature. If they start to get bored, then they will look for new sensations and there is a possibility of targeting this world as their place of residence. Imagine if it really happened, human. Do you want your place of residence to be deprived by the demon?"
"Unfortunately, I will give up my life if the demons invade this world. I'm not like you guys who are afraid of death. Maybe, humans like me there are many in this world and they will do whatever it takes to protect their homes."
The Goddess was a little insinuated and hurt at his words, then she cleared his throat. "We do avoid death because the world will be even more chaotic if the creator does fall. Gods and human have their own places but there are some pioneers who created your dwellings."
"Moreover, your bold demeanour is urgently needed to defeat them. You said there are likely many humans who have the courage like you, aren't you? Help us persuade them to defeat the Demon Lord." The goddess pleaded seriously and earnestly. Even his face was very formal and made the atmosphere a little awkward.
But...
"Personally, I don't want to give up my life for your benefit. At least give me a tempting reward, at least I can negotiate with the villagers regarding our agreement."
A small smile appeared on the goddess' lips. "I had expected you to say this, human. I only offered one reward and it was the only one, nothing else."
"Tell me."
Taking a deep breath and then taking it out through his nose, he said, "I will make you the Leader of the Gods and stay in Heaven with us."
"Hahaha, don't be kidding. Humans becoming gods is something that cannot happen, right?" Xavier laughed as he patted the floor. In the next few seconds, his laughter slowly began to dissipate when he didn't see the goddess making any changes in expression and looked serious. "Hey, tell me. You're kidding, right?"
"I'm not kidding, human. A goddess will look idiotic when committing fraud against Her people. I can really make you a God Leader and then live in our neighbourhood. Maybe you're a little wondering about the existence of gods. But from this moment on, I will erase your doubts with reality if we were real and bring about miracles you wouldn't have had before."
"Really? What miracles can you give me?"
"I can't show it right now because this can be owned by every individual. The white light you saw before is one of the miracles I have of the many miracles that exist."
Xavier pondered for a moment. Although it has been explained, there are still doubts in the heart. Demon Lord is not an easy enemy to conquer. In fact, Gods are ranked first while humans are one of the weakest creatures after dwarfs.
