And so, I confessed all that had happened and why I'd been put out.

My doctor listened carefully, his face plainly expressed as he did, but I knew he held the same values as me, so I didn't fear his disdain or persecution. When I finished telling him of the recent events, he only looked at me kinder than before, his hand squeezing soft pulses into my arm.

"That was courageous of you, Reyin. I'm proud of you for holding onto your beliefs and doing right by others. You are growing into such a beautiful soul that your light is becoming too blinding to my sensitive eyes."
