Carissa shook her head, her voice tinged with frustration. "I appreciate your concern, Daisy, but I need to make my own decisions. I trust David."

"David is messing with you, Carissa. He's just playing you, and you're letting yourself be his sex toy."

"Stop it, Daisy!" Carissa almost yelled. "David loves me. He helped Duncan get out of the police station earlier today, and he even helped Duncan get a job using his connections, despite how terribly you know my brother treated him."

"He probably had it all planned."

"No, Daisy. Angelina has also built a bond with David. That's why I'm going to tell her soon about her father."

"I just don't want you to get hurt again."
