"We need to talk," Alpha Idris said seriously, expecting her to come up with an excuse he was certain not to accept. However, Ashley surprised him by opening her door wider and inviting him in.

He had every right to be there and there was no need for her to be ashamed of having her mate in her room.

"Please, feel free to sit on the bed," Ashley urged him on. "We are mates, after all." She felt a sense of obligation to her mate, but her mind was clouded with worry.

Alpha Denzel had informed her that her mother was not in good condition, but she was yet to fully grasp the seriousness of the situation, mentally preparing herself for the inevitable.

Alpha Idris did not expect her to make it so easy for him, but he appreciated her straightforwardness. He also understood the turmoil she was going through and felt the need to come to an agreement with her.
