"I could have punished him by beating him to a pulp. There was no need for killing," Valerie said seriously. Though Alpha Denzel disagreed, he did not interrupt their conversation, only leaning against the glass door.

With Astrid's image in the mirror, that of Alpha Denzel and Valerie could not be seen.

He agreed with Astrid that Aticus deserved what he got but was only concerned with Astrid taking over without Valerie's permission.

That could pose a huge problem for her if she doesn't learn to control Astrid.

"He would not have stopped if I had not killed him," Astrid explained still without remorse. Valerie felt guilty. Aticus had parents who must be old by now.
