Bab 146: Chapter 146 – No More Keeping Secrets

Alpha Denzel walked back from the window to where Valerie sat on the bed, disturbed by her silence, and his gaze questioning. Valerie froze momentarily. This question was unexpected, and she partly guessed that it involved Ashley.

She also could not help the warmth rising in her heart because she guessed that Ashley had returned. Her only fear was for Alpha Denzel to discover that Ashley was the one who disrespected him at the club.

What would the proud Alpha do? Would it be enough that Valerie already paid the price for her elder sister's sins?

"Is there a problem? I don't have a twin sister," she said truthfully.

Alpha Denzel sighed with relief. It was rare but not impossible for unrelated people to look alike. Or, it could be someone trying to cause problems for Valerie. "It must be an imposter then. I knew it couldn't be you. I would just look into the matter."
