Eli wished he could tell her how close this moment had come to those fantasies that had truly lived in his mind. The ones that had crept into his dreams on those early summer Saturdays, back at the beginning of their unexpected reunion that led him to many sleepless nights and long cold showers.

Had it really been a mere two months and a half since then? Even these days, he still had occasional moments of doubt when he questioned the impossible reality that he lived in. Even right now, as he held Harper's boneless body in his arms and felt both of their chests heaving madly against each other, he still could barely tell if this was just another fantasy in his dreams or a true moment of that precious bliss come true.
