Bab 306: Shamashia

Lucien's arms trembled as he struggled to maintain the shield, pouring more holy power into the barrier, but the relentless force of the vortex began to crack it. 

It was their last defense—if the shield shattered, they would all be dragged into the void of nothingness.

Just as his resolve began to waver, he felt a warm hand on his. He looked over to see Lithira standing beside him, her face set in determination. 

"You're not alone," she said firmly, her voice steady despite the chaos surrounding them. 

With a nod, she summoned a second barrier using her rune magic. The shimmering shield of the Terra Dragon was solid, capable of holding back even Merodakh's terrifying magic.

Lucien exhaled, smiling weakly. "Thank you, Lithira," he said, grateful. It was easy to forget, in the heat of battle, that he wasn't fighting alone.
