Bab 304: The Dragon Undead

The shock was overwhelming, and for a moment, she was too stunned to respond.

'What… what do you mean?'

Lucien's silence stretched, filling Brigantiea with growing unease. Every second that passed felt heavier, the tension tightening around her chest. 

Finally, his voice cut through the quiet, but the words were like a knife to her heart.

'He became an undead...' He paused, searching for the right words. 

'It's up to you whether you want to be here or not, but... I'm going to kill him. I need to kill him.'

Brigantiea felt her breath catch, her throat constricting painfully. 'Merodakh... undead?' Her heart ached, a grief so deep it made it hard to breathe. 

'Please do what is necessary,' she managed to reply, though her voice cracked with the weight of the words. 

And then, as the telepathy link severed, she was left with the cold, crushing reality.
