Bab 303: What Happened To The Holy Knights?

"What should we do, Your Holiness?" one of the holy knights asked, his face troubled as he lifted his helmet slightly. 

Before them lay the bodies of the elite Nereid knights—slain without warning, without an apparent cause.

"Stay quiet. I need to concentrate," Tritons said, placing his hand gently on the trunk of the World Tree. 

He closed his eyes, seeking a connection with the ancient being.

'O virtuous Tree of Life, Tree of Knowledge, the World Tree. Your child is lost and seeks your guidance.' 

Tritons' mind echoed with his thoughts, the silent prayer aimed at the tree's vast wisdom. 

'Grant me the answers to this tragedy. Reveal the truth behind these deaths.'

The World Tree's branches swayed as if stirred by an unseen wind, and a soft, chiming sound resonated through the air, bringing with it a strange, soothing peace.
