Brigantiea used her magic to create balls of light that floated like lanterns around the perimeter where the sandworm was expected to appear.

Rowan stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Hoho, this is much more effective than torches."

Lucien glanced at him before asking, "Why does the sandworm only attack the fields after the harvest is done? If it wants to feed on the fertile land, wouldn't it be better before the harvest?"

"Hmm... The sandworm only appears in Euclair Village, Lord Lucien. Research on the creature is scarce, but the theory is that it hibernates during the Fuschia and Vermilion seasons and wakes up around this time," Rowan explained. Despite their frequent appearances, much about the sandworms remained a mystery.

"I see... What a strange time to start hibernation," Lucien said, crossing his arms.

This kind of thing was a real pain. Without Brigantiea and Lithira here, there might have been casualties. He was grateful for their presence.
