Bab 287: Overbearing Transformation Potion! Bloodline Reorganization!(1)
"Don't worry, Nagini. This isn't for you just yet," Blake reassured her. "We need to wake up the real Nagini first."
Nagini's condition was unique. Her main human soul could only dominate her consciousness when fully awake. However, her blood curse was severe, and whenever she fell asleep or willingly transformed into her snake form, the curse caused her human soul to slip into a deep slumber. At that point, her snake soul would take over, keeping her trapped in snake form.
Blake had a bold plan to bypass the blood curse entirely. He theorized that he could exploit the nature of the curse and skip the magical system altogether. He saw the blood curse as a kind of malfunctioning "data line" — once it transformed Nagini into a snake, the transformation was one-way. She couldn't shift back to human form.
But what if Blake could provide a new, fully functioning "data line"? The shape-shifting potion he had in mind would work as a reverse transformation: fixing Nagini's body in human form. Even though the curse would still exist, Nagini could remain human with this new potion's help. The only downside was that her body might occasionally revert to snake form. However, Blake believed he'd eventually find a way to break the curse altogether.
This potion, although powerful, wasn't dangerous, just untested. The worst that could happen was it might not work. Confident in the potion's potential, Blake decided to ask Nagini if she was willing to take the risk.
After taking a snapshot of Nagini's soul, Blake prepared to explain his plan.
"Blake... Is it morning already?" Nagini asked, waking up from her snake form.
"No, Nagini, but I've come up with a solution. I think we can try something," Blake replied.
"Really? You mean a way to turn me back into a human?" Her eyes lit up with excitement.
"Yes, but it's an untested potion, so there are some risks…"
"I'll do it!" Nagini interrupted, not waiting for Blake to finish.
"Wait, Nagini. You need to know — it could be painful, both physically and mentally," Blake warned her gently.
Nagini's resolve remained firm. "I don't care, Blake. I can handle the pain."
She had endured enough. For years, she struggled with her snake transformations. Every night, she sought secluded places to sleep, fearing the curse would turn her into a snake while she was unconscious. Sometimes, she stayed awake for entire nights just to avoid transforming. Her sleepless nights were unbearable, and she had grown tired of feeling like a monster. Now, with the hope of finally breaking free, there was nothing left to hesitate about.
Seeing the determination in her eyes, Blake nodded. "Alright, here's what we need to do. I'll pour the potion into your snake body, but you must not try to transform into your human form on your own. The only thing you need to do is stay conscious — don't lose yourself."
"I understand," Nagini replied, nodding solemnly. She was ready.
Blake snapped his fingers, and Nagini's soul returned to her snake body. The snake, now fully under Nagini's human consciousness, looked up at Blake with clear eyes. She only had a few minutes before the blood curse would force her back into a deep sleep, trapping her in snake form once again. This small window of time was crucial. Blake needed to transform Nagini into her human form and stabilize the transformation using the shape-shifting potion.
Blake opened the bottle, and Nagini lowered her head, opening her mouth wide. Carefully, he poured the entire potion into her.
The moment the potion entered Nagini's body, her entire being reacted violently. A red light exploded from her snake form as she thrashed wildly on the ground, writhing in unbearable pain. She felt as though her body and soul were being torn apart, only to be reassembled again.
"Hang in there, Nagini! The potion is working — just keep your consciousness intact!" Blake shouted as he pressed his hand against her head, using his soul massage technique to help ease her pain. The power of his touch calmed her slightly, allowing her to endure the pain.
Blake heard a loud crackling sound. "What's happening?" he muttered, astonished as Nagini's body began to dissolve and then reform, her soul being reshaped by an unseen force. Even Blake's soul massage was being repelled by the intense energy swirling around her. He had no choice but to let go and trust that the potion would do its job.
Nagini's snake body twisted violently, her scales splitting open as blood poured out, but Blake couldn't intervene. He could only watch, knowing this was part of the transformation process.
Suddenly, her snake form seemed to stabilize, but her pain was far from over. "Just a little longer, Nagini!" Blake encouraged her, watching as the snake's body continued to reconfigure itself.
The snake's skin began to tear further, exposing a glimpse of something beneath — human skin. Nagini's form was shifting, breaking away from her snake body and reassembling into a human shape. Her consciousness clung on, guided by Blake's earlier advice to stay focused and conscious.
More cracks, more breaking, and more blood. Blake winced at the sight, feeling the agony Nagini must have been going through. But this was the cost of resetting her form, breaking the bonds of the blood curse that had trapped her for so long.
