Upon learning that sage mages, the people who stood almost at the pinnacle of the kingdom, were easily killed by demons and mysterious mages, the people’s hearts started beating erratically with fear. The news that the authorities wanted to hush up ended up turning into big news that sent shockwaves through the kingdom.

Like the entire kingdom was shrouded in black mist, after word got out that the mission to exterminate the spider demons went wrong, fear started to grip the hearts of the people.

A threat that could easily kill sage mages meant that it was a threat that could eliminate weak mages even more easily. To say that the kingdom was spiraling into fearful chaos would not be inaccurate.
