Bab 253: The Fruits of Melfario

There was a sound of light, cautious footsteps on the cave floor. As Arias walked further into the cave, the area around him seemed to only grow darker. Eventually, it looked like it was nighttime inside the cave. Arias’ footsteps slowed a little as he cast a spell. A small fireball was conjured above the palm of Arias’ hand to be used as a substitute for a torch.

Arias tried to keep his distance and avoid being detected by the black-scaled serpent as much as possible. While the black-scaled serpent’s current injury made him confident that he would be able to defeat the beast without much difficulty, he didn’t want to kill it just yet. He wanted to follow it until he knew exactly what it was that attracted the black-scaled serpent.

“There’s no mistaking it. This cave is the lair of one of the beasts.”
