"I need to go…" he spoke softly, the weight of those words heavy with unspoken understanding between them.

Emily shook her head, her eyes glistening as she returned Talon's gaze. "Ethan, this is our last meeting… I can't fulfill our promise."

"Olivia…" Talon murmured softly, then reached out to take Emily's hand. He gently stroked the back of her hand with his thumb. "I love you, and that will never change."
