A few minutes later - with some awkward sorting and stacking for all the bags - Rain, Ozzy, and Cassie sat around a multi-colored mountain of ice cream, topped with fruits, biscuit sticks, dollops of whipped cream, and long spoons.
"Dig in, boys! My treat!" Cassie didn't wait to grab a spoon and start sampling the differently colored orbs.
"What's this brown stuff?" Rain asked as he drew a spoon from the mountain.
"That's called 'chocolate'," Ozzy said. "Try it, it's good."
Rain poked his tongue into the syrupy substance. His eyes widened, and soon he was eating with just as much gusto and with far more abandon than Cassiel.
Suddenly a sharp pain started in his forehead. "Gah!" Rain held his head with his free hand.
"Hehe, brain freeze," Cassie said before swallowing her current bite. "You should slow down a bit."
