Watching Alex leave, I decide it's best if I just go back inside. I just don't know what to do anymore. I hope she doesn't get herself killed all because of my stupidity.

After walking inside, I decide to clear the table, take them to the kitchen, and make sure every place is clean so I can get some rest.

Just then, John walks over to me as I look at him and smile. I want to hide my nervousness about what I was thinking. I don't want John to find out where Alex went; I know he will get angry and try to do something stupid.

"Are you okay?" He asks, and I turn to look at him and nod.

"Yes, everything is okay. So, are you going out?" I ask, and he looks at the window and then back at me.

"It's already getting late. I think it's best that I stay here. Do you need any help?"

I smile at him, turn my back to him, and start doing what I was doing.
