In the white bird's presence, Rui Ye took in huge gulps of air and controlled his erratic breathing with much difficulty. 

Now that he had calmed down, he felt a little embarrassed for overreacting just because of a nightmare. Come on, he was already six— almost seven years old in a few months! He was now a big boy, and he must not bawl his eyes out like a baby anymore! Besides, there was no telling that his dreams would come true.
