Their primal instincts renewed as they were no longer under the suppression of a Stage 5 Demon Beast, allowing them to fight for their primordial desires of seeking rare minerals as food and growth.

Their desire for the metals and attacking with abandon took root in all of them, yet the weaker ones were crazier than the stronger ones, as if implying that the stronger ones were different from these dumb beasts.
