Bab 48: Chapter 48: Battlefield

The other end of the staff was drenched in the blood of its owner, marking the end of Raven's wrath. His body was failing to keep up with his mind. With a heavy breath and an exhausted body, he tossed the stained staff away.

Ignoring his own fatigue, he shifted his attention to the opposite side of the room, where a small silver coin glimmered near the wall.

He walked over to the coin. Using the robe provided to him by the Palace, he wiped the blood from his hands.

Only after cleansing his hands did he cautiously retrieve the coin and keep it back in his pocket where a small earring was already present. Even with the search magic, the man had failed to pull out the earring as it was an artefact beyond worldly sense.

Raven moved towards the lifeless body, and carefully extracted a pen lodged behind the man's neck. He cleaned the pen and stored it in his other pocket, all while making his way towards the threshold of the Central Region of the Palace.
