Bab 304: A Loyal Companion

The sudden question made Xu Wei shift his attention toward Xiang Ling before he answered - "Truth be told, I didn't sense his presence that night. I was actually roaming outside in the courtyard when I noticed a dark energy flying across the manor. So, I immediately followed after it and found the intruder in your chamber."

Xiang Ling slowly nodded her head in understanding as she muttered, "This makes sense. I have been wanting to ask you about this for a while but never got the chance."

After that night, she did try to find out about that intruder, but no matter how hard she tried, she found nothing about him. What she found even more weird was that except for that very night, no such incident happened again, making her wonder if that night was merely a coincidence.

"Master, why did you suddenly bring up the topic of something happening to you? Is something wrong?" Xu Wei asked and there was a clear sign of worry on his face as he looked at her.
