Bab 234: The She Gathering Arc (4)

At the first rhythm of the music, the couples tapped their feet on the floor. The lights dimmed and the melody hung in the air.

"Do we really need to dance or is this your way of getting touchy with me?" Jia had her suspicions.

"It hurts when you doubt me, Spicy. When have I ever fooled you?" his dramatic expression leaked out even through his mask.

Placing her right hand on his shoulder and intertwining their hands, he gently wrapped his around her waist till it bumped against him. His eyes slightly narrowed as a sneaky smile lit his lips.

"Will your boyfriend be jealous?"

"Huojin is not my boyfriend."

The dim light from the chandelier fell upon his left profile that made his smile look even more enigmatic. As the rhythm changed notes, they slowly swayed along its wave. Jia's eyes were completely focused on the guests to try to catch any suspicious movements. But with everybody's masks on, it was hard to catch anybody's guarded expressions.
