"Favor?" Jia knitted her brows.

Xin Manchu nodded. "He had a lot of influence and lots of projects in his pipeline. Getting cast will be a golden chance for anybody but for Mey to get a lead role in any of it at this age was…a tad difficult. I heard now and then that she wasn't getting any roles she wanted in other projects because Director Wan was blocking those chances."

Jia's eyes squinted and she threw in her net.

"Just like you weren't."

"Sorry?"

"I heard that there were high chances for you to get a lead role in Wan Guanting's next project. But you were cast aside at the last moment."

Xin Manchu smiled after a moment. "A lead role? How come the actor himself doesn't know about it? It's nothing like that. I wonder where you heard it from."
