The morning sun shone gloriously in the blue sky as Illya and I finally emerged from the underground of the Ryuudou temple. The cool breeze caressed my face as I took a deep breath, appreciating the feeling of being alive. Beside me, Illya also seemed amazed, her ruby-colored eyes sparkling in the daylight.
"We did it!" she exclaimed, raising her little arms in celebration. "Now everything will be different!"
I agreed with a smile. Thanks to the power of the Holy Grail, I had obtained the Second Magic - the ability to travel between parallel worlds. A dream that seemed impossible had now become a tangible reality.
Suddenly, I heard hurried footsteps behind us. I quickly turned around, taking a defensive stance, but relaxed when I saw it was just Marisbury Animusphere running towards us, panting.
"You did it!" he exclaimed when he reached me. His face displayed an almost childlike excitement. "Did the Grail really grant you unprecedented magical powers?"
I told Marisbury about my new ability, and his eyes widened in disbelief and admiration. He bombarded Illya and me with questions, eager to understand everything about the infinite possibilities that now lay before us.
As we talked, more people started to approach: Rin, with her eternally grumpy expression, Sakura, emanating her gentle aura as always, and even the impassive Medusa seemed curious about what had happened down there.
Suddenly, I heard a sharp exclamation. I quickly turned to see Illya running towards two familiar figures.
"Sella! Leysritt!"
The two maids of Illya had emerged from the underground, and their reunion was full of hugs, laughter, and tears of joy. I was happy to see that bond restored; they clearly meant a lot to each other.
After answering a few more questions, I finally managed to temporarily say goodbye to the group and withdraw for a moment of solitary contemplation. I chose a bench in a quiet corner of the temple gardens and sat down, closing my eyes and taking a deep breath of the pure air.
My mind was buzzing with ideas and plans. With my new powers, I could travel to parallel worlds and meet alternative versions of myself, see how my life could have been. More than that, I could search for unique knowledge and resources in other universes, bringing them back here. The possibilities seemed endless.
As I thought about this, I heard the rustling of footsteps on the grass. Upon opening my eyes, I found myself face to face with none other than the King of Knights herself.
Apparently, she had a frown on her beautiful face. "Riser. My wish. I want my wish." I looked into her eyes and saw her bright green eyes.
"Alright." I affirmed to her, catching her by surprise. She tilted her head, shaking her mane on top of her head.
"What? You think I wouldn't allow it? Well, but first I want to inform you how it works, the way the grail grants the wish."
"The grail considers wishes that can be achieved through the 5 true magics. Let's say you want to be rich, then it can use the first and create a copious amount of money or gold for you. What happened in my request, was that I gained a billionaire company to earn a large amount of money. It was, in a way, a subtle alteration of reality."
"That is, you can, I believe, go back in time and prevent someone from pulling the sword from the stone." Artoria tried to speak, but I quickly interrupted her. So I continued.
"Your wish could potentially be harmful to you, but also to human history. Well, let's say you don't pull the sword from the stone, but someone else does. In human history, at least, in all alternative realities."
"There is or was a King Arthur. But let's say you did that. Then the world would erase this reality. Because, it does not match human history. You would be pruned. Where it would be forced to restart the world. Anyway, you and all living beings would be erased and rewritten." When I explained what could potentially lead her to her death. As well as everyone in that timeline, it shook her.
I really thought she would cry, but somehow, she held everything as strong as she could to stand. She is indeed a strong woman.
"How do you know this?" she asked me.
I smiled at her, while pointing to my head.
"I saw your memories. And I came to this conclusion with them. I guess you saw mine, didn't you?"
"The only thing I saw. Was you being crushed between many breasts. But, now back to the point. I don't know what I want to wish for." Artoria said to me, while she was still very lost.
"Well, you can get to know Great Britain. Travel to your homeland." I tell her, maybe she could get to know it and then decide to continue living a normal life.
"But. I. I don't know what to do." she spoke looking at her hands with a certain fear of a possible future. I smiled gently at her and then spoke when she looked at me.
"It's okay not to know something. After all, no one is born knowing everything. How about, I will accompany you in this endeavor. It's not like I would abandon you anyway. After all, I still have your contract." I tell her, lifting my wrist. to show her the command seal on it.
I can see her cheeks blush. When I imagined that it would be possible to move on to the next step with Artoria.
BRRRRR!
I see her get embarrassed by the whole situation. So I change the subject.
"How about, we gather everyone at home to celebrate. Why don't you talk to Rin and Sakura." I tell her, and she nods and without saying goodbye, runs off. I can't help but let out a light laugh. Who would have thought that the King of Knights is a glutton.
When the sun began to set on the horizon, I decide to get up, ready to return to Medea's house and start planning my first dimensional trip. On the way, I found Illya sitting alone on a swing in the temple gardens, thoughtfully looking at the orange sky.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked gently as I sat on the swing next to her.
Illya sighed. "About how my life has completely changed in such a short time. From weak and destined for an early death, now I feel full of life and possibilities."
She turned to me, her eyes shining with emotion. "And I owe it all to you. Thank you, Riser."
I smiled and playfully messed up her silver hair.
"We still have a long way to go, but we'll walk it together. Before that, how about we gather together with everyone to eat?"
Illya nodded, smiling. Then, hand in hand like brother and sister, we walked side by side towards the sunset, ready to embark on new adventures together.
"Do you think they'll like the idea?" Illya asked, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between us.
"Definitely," I responded confidently. "After all, who wouldn't want to celebrate a new beginning? Besides, it's a great excuse for us to gather and share stories."
Illya smiled, agreeing with a nod. "I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's reaction. Especially Rin and Sakura's."
