Outside the Zephyr Forest, Chi Yulan was seated on a patch of grass with her back resting against the carriage wheel and her head pressed against her husband's shoulder.
In sweet silence, they hearkened to the melodious zephyrs breezing through the Forest. Chi Yulan's heart ached woefully while she stared off into the distance.
"He changed so much since that day…" The Grandmistress suddenly spoke, absentmindedly twirling a strand of her husband's hair around her finger. "Ah-Cheng used to be so full of energy and enthusiastic…but ever since that accident he's quieted and become more timid. He obeys whatever we ask of him and never questions our decisions. No matter how brightly Ah-Cheng smiles or how bold he seems…he's become a doll."
