Daily Routine
Tapping on the computer I then shut it off.
I had invested in 2 guilds that would blow up. While I wanted to invest in more I felt it would be suspicious besides the rest wouldn't give me as much as they would…well not the legal ones anyway.
One of the guilds would find an artifact in a dungeon.
Artifacts were just special items that granted the user a special effect or could do special things so as you can imagine they are expensive.
As I mentioned previously the demons had destroyed the land of the other races which included the dwarfs. The dungeons were just special portals that connected to the abyss and the lands it had destroyed. Basically, the guild master would go to a dwarven planet.
The second guild would have its guild master rank up to 13 stars. This is quite the feat as the only people who have 13 stars are the higher-ups of the Player Association but the public likes to call them the "Elite 10". They are the only humans right now that have 13 stars or above so their stocks would increase drastically.
Putting my laptop under my bed I quickly got dressed and exited the orphanage. Stretching for a bit I then started to run. As I continued to run I noticed how fit my body was which made me happy.
As someone who never really worked out or had the desire to, but even if I did I didn't have the time to work out, I had the goal to have a six-pack.
But due to transmigrating into this body, I had obtained a six-pack.
'I guess that's one thing off my bucket list'
But then a realization hit me "Wait doesn't that technically mean I died?"
Usually, when a person transmigrated it was due to death. But there were those rare stories where a person transmigrated due to a ritual or artifact.
But I quickly shook my head "Yeah no let's not overthink this right now,"
After doing 10 laps around the block I found an open area and started to do push-ups, squats and chin-ups on a very sturdy branch.
After I finished that I then started to do some mana training. Considering mana didn't exist in my world I had to learn it from scratch and the memories didn't do much. Moving the mana in my body I tried to figure out the best way to utilize it.
There was a technique that amplified a person's mana usage making it quicker, more effective, and less mana wasted.
That technique was called "Flow".
There were many types of "Flow" techniques, however, they were considered very valuable even more than techniques which are mainly monopolized by the guilds.
Flow is something people would literally kill to have.
Sadly I didn't have one nor did I know a place to get one. You'd think being the author I would've known how to use a powerful flow technique but I mainly pulled that shit out of my ass and besides I also based it off a manga I read.
But Flow wasn't exactly necessary for what I wanted. What I wanted was "Reverse Flow". Essentially it allowed a person to restore their body. If someone lost a limb they would be able to grow it back and depending on the mastery of it they'd be able to get it restored in about one second.
Again I didn't exactly know how to do it as I pulled it out of my ass.
With a deep sigh, I began to move my mana. As I continued to move it I felt a sense of familiarity. Soon feeling my mana channels a smile formed on my face.
"I guess that's pretty good for today," I muttered
Getting up I then looked at my hands which had small bolts of lightning crackling around them. Now after this, it would be logical to train my technique but sadly I didn't have a weapon that I could use or was in a state to afford one.
"Guess I have to wait for the money to come in,"
Despite [Medici's Thunderdance] being a grade 5 technique it wasn't exactly super overpowered. while the technique is powerful, it is a one-trick pony. As Medici said it wasn't anything special. The ability to focus your attack at a single point and then hit your opponent at a tremendous speed is something any competent swordsman could do in this day and age.
But if I'm being honest this technique has the potential to be one of-no the best technique. The only thing that limited Medici was his thought process.
He thought like a normal swordsman but not a swordsman with mana. With this electricity, you could do a bunch of things.
For example electro magnetism.
I could attract an attack to my blade or a pacific point or repel the attack and counter it.
But what made this technique special is that it probably would have one of the best defensive abilities even compared to mages.
Mages have the ability to create a barrier around themselves. While they have that barrier cast they could still launch a bunch of devastating spells. While close combatants like swordsmen can create barriers they wouldn't be able to hold for long. But as they increase their stars they'll be able to both create barriers and attack.
This is one of the reasons why mages look down on the swordsmen and the like.
However, with electro-magnetism, I could create a barrier strong enough to stop an attack. I can do that by creating magnetic fields to exert a braking force to effectively slow an attack down or bring it to a halt. This principle was commonly used back in my old world with stuff like trains, roller coasters, and industrial machinery where precise control of motion was required.
Of course, that's going to take a hell of a lot of mana but I already had that covered with my gift.
In other words, I had to train a lot. So with no weapon, I might as well try and use this technique in many different ways.
I fell into the same routine train my body, training my mana control then experimenting with my technique. I kept doing this for around 4 days.
Getting out of the shower with a towel around my neck I let the next group go in. There was one bathroom here so we paired in groups to wash up. As I was walking out I was approached by 2 kids who seemed to be around 11 or 10.
"Hey Arthur can you help us?" one of them asked
"With what?"
"We want help with our homework,"
Showing me the papers I nodded. Following them to my room I showed them how to solve a few questions. Kids asking me questions isn't common apparently the previous Arthur was a helpful person and smart too.
Heading toward my room I sat on my bed and browsed the web only had to wait 5 more days then I'd be rich. However, then after that, I thought about what to do.
I was going to apply to Nexus without a doubt. The tuition expenses would be paid by the money I earned through stocks. There of course was a scholarship program which was held by a tournament but I didn't want to take the risk as a major character was there.
'I guess that leaves me with one option'
"Hey Arthur," I turned to see who had called for me and was surprised.
Arthur wasn't exactly close to anyone here and there weren't many people his age here. But people around his age did volunteer here.
Looking at the group that was comprised of three girls and 2 boys I tilted my head. From what I knew they were volunteers that were here for about 2 months.
"Yes? Can I help you?"
"We were wondering if you would like to join us to listen to Saint Elena,"
