Bab 78: Chapter 78 Excuse me?
"Right there in front of me, was a man who knew what he did was wrong. A man who was addicted to killing and raping young women, akin to how someone is addicted to cigarettes. He knew he shouldn't be doing it, he knew it was wrong, he just did it anyways." The disgust in Shin's voice could be heard loud and clearly.
"And he was just sitting there in front of me, begging for me to kill him. And I thought to myself, no I shouldn't kill this man. Killing is evil. No matter how you put it, snuffing out a life is not the answer." Shin said, pausing.
"But does a man like that truly deserve to live? " Shin said heatedly. "No, they don't. So I shot him in the head." Shot was a loose term, technically, yes he shot him in the head. But in all actuality, he was shot in the head with an orb of power of destruction, so it was more like his head was blown off.
"Tell me, father, does that make me a bad person?" Shin asked the father in a menacing voice.
"Killing is a mortal sin. You've broken one of God's most sacred rules. You must repent my child. Seek forgiveness, pledge yourself to him, and your sins will be absolved." The pastor said.
Shin laughed. "Forgiveness? Even for devils like me padre?" Shin said, chuckling.
"Excuse me?" The pastor said, surprised and taken aback.
"You heard me padre. And I don't mean those fairy tail devils and demons. I mean the real thing. The 72 pillars and all." Shin said viciously. "It really has been nice talking to you padre. It's nice to get this stuff off my chest. Now I see why people do it."
Shin could hear the pastor's heartbeat and breathing become very intense. Shin had to resist busting out laughing.
Alas, however, it seemed his fun was ruined when the door to his confessional was swung upon rather quickly. In the doorway was a woman in her late 20s with blue eyes wearing the outfit of a nun.
However, this was no ordinary nun. The Q printed on the back of her hand symbolized that. This was the Queen of the Archangel Gabriel. Griselda Quarta.
"Shin, what are you doing in here." Griselda said rather scarily. Her hands were on her hips and her face looked down at Shin sternly.
Shin looked at the ground bashfully and rubbed the back of his head. "Uhh, just having some fun. Nothing to worry about. Promise." Shin said, however, that was proved to be false when the priest came bursting out of the confessional.
"Demon spawn! A devil! In the house of God!" The pastor screamed to everyone in the church, which just so happened to be in the swing of Sunday morning sermon.
Shin sweat dropped from inside of the confessional. "Well, that's my queue to leave. See ya later Griselda, pleasure doing business with you." Shin was then consumed in a flash of red lighting and he was gone.
Griselda facepalmed. "I should have known better than to team up with a devil." She looked back at the pastor who was still raving about a devil in the house of god. This would be a pain to clean up.
Sirzechs meanwhile was doing paperwork in his office when Shin suddenly appeared in front of him, sitting in a chair, in a flash of lightning.
"Job is done boss, without a hitch and definitely no political incidents at all," Shin said while saluting Sirzechs, his face set in an emotionless expression that could even give Grayfia a run for her money.
Speaking of which, just as Shin thought that Grayfia burst through the doors of Sirzechs office, her aura radiating from her body. She was looking all around the office for someone before her eyes finally landed on Shin.
Her face became irritated and her aura powered down. She looked to Sirzechs and bowed. "I'm sorry my king. I felt the wards on your office inform me of an intruder and came as soon as I could." Grayfia apologized.
This wasn't the first time Shin had done this. In fact, he did it quite often and it ended the same way every time. Grayfia would burst through the doors ready for a fight, only to find it was Shin somehow teleporting directly into the devil king's office. Which should be impossible!
She had personally combed every inch of the office trying to figure out how he was doing it but had thus far had no success. They still didn't even know what teleportation he was using. As far as they knew, there was no teleportation that looked like lightning, and then poof there the user was.
Shin looked at her for a second and then back to Sirzechs. "You know, this wouldn't be a problem if you just added me to the teleportation wards." Shin said offhandedly, only receiving an 'are you stupid' look from Sirzechs.
Sirzechs' eyes drifted up to Grayfia. "You may go now Grayfia, thank you as always for your quick reactions," Sirzechs said a bit irritated. He wishes he knew how Shin was teleporting into his office so he could stop it. Not that he minded Shin teleporting in, even if Shin wanted to kill him he didn't stand even a fraction of a chance of doing so.
However, they have had to reinforce the doors to his office three times now because Grayfia tended to break them when rushing into the office to protect him from the intruder.
"My king," Grayfia said while bowing and then left the office.
Sirzechs looked back to Shin with an expecting look, which Shin took as the cue to start explaining why he was there.
"The mission is complete, the rouge priest is dead. I did however run into Gabriel's queen during the mission and teamed up with her to find the priest." Shin reported to Sirzechs. For the last month and a half, Shin has been in the employment as a bounty hunter/assassin to earn money while he was on the road exploring the supernatural world.
