Jiho raised the knife, her hands trembling ever so slightly as she steeled herself. The cold steel grazed her fingertip, and she winced as she made a small cut, letting a droplet of blood form.

It hovered for a moment before she let it fall onto the diary's cover. She waited, breath held, but nothing happened. Her frustration mounted, a deep frown creasing her forehead.

A thought struck her, and without hesitation, she bit down on her lip, hard enough to draw a sharp sting and the taste of iron on her tongue. The pain was a fleeting sensation, quickly overshadowed by the determination now coursing through her veins.

Taking the knife again, she pressed it against her wrist, biting her lip harder to brace herself. The blade slid across her skin, deeper this time, and a rivulet of blood began to flow freely, staining her pale skin. Her heart pounded in her chest as she watched the blood drip steadily onto the diary.
