Bab 454: Adapt Part I

“M…Mmm…”

A sleepy moan could be heard as a pair of bright ruby eyes slowly opened. Once her consciousness had returned, the first thing she saw was a stranger, a strange place, and a strange situation that made her sit up instantly.

“Awake now? How do you feel?”

A gentle voice rang out as the man smiled at her. He was sitting nearby, with a cup of bitter-smelling liquid of unknown substance.

“She woke up? Ugh, finally. Your medicine is too strong, Joker. Knocking her out for three hours like that, is it a sleeping pill or actually poison? I thought she’d never wake up ever again.”

A harsh tone from the other direction attracted her gaze to another man who was sitting there. In his hand was a popsicle that he was happily eating.

“Hey, don’t throw any tantrums again, you little twerp. I won’t let you off easy this time. Do you understand?”
