Joke nodded. He had heard something along the same line from Rin as well. Madame Fon had also advised that she should wait if she did not have a team she really wanted to work with. And if she could show a great play in the tournament, she would be able to ask for higher payment too.

“That means there’s only one person left to find, right?” Artit asked.

“Yeah. I’m having a headache right now. We already have one confirmed substitute. But the main player, though…”

“That substitute is probably Dani.” The man laughed. “Why don’t you ask Uncle? He’s a veteran.”

The bespectacled man let out a soft sigh at that suggestion.

“That won’t do. Uncle doesn’t have a lot of time to practice with us. Also, I want our first baton to fit in with the team more.”

“You can just say that Uncle is too weak, bastard.”

His friend teased, and Joke had to shake his head. Though he was used to his mischievousness, sometimes he could not laugh along.
