If it could escape through it, it would be free.

The Fiend moved like a ghost, but Owen wasn't about to let it have its way.

With a flap of his wings, he positioned himself right in front of the Fiend.

"Stay, will you? I've accepted a favor from the black protodragon; I can't just do nothing."

The two plunged into another round of fierce attack and defense.

Phyllis, observing the crack in the sky and the black and gold figures entangled in combat, made a decision.

"We should leave now. We can't afford to lose the Heart of the Ocean and our lives in this place."
