Clang!
A cloud of sparks flew as the knife was blocked just an inch away from Lucifer's neck, a transparent shield appeared and deflected the
upcoming attacks .
"Don't be hasty, maid. Calm down and then cut me a piece of barbecue," Lucifer maintained his smile and said.
Upon hearing his words, Baby5's expression changed once again, and she obediently went to cut the barbecue.
Afterwards, Baby5 showed her talent for changing expressions. She could effortlessly switch between rage and shyness without any hindrance.
Cavendish stood there, stunned. Finally, he understood why Lucifer wanted to keep Baby5. She was incredibly easy to manipulate, as long as he spoke a word.
"Okay, from today onwards, you will be the maid of the Nether Pirates," Lucifer declared after dinner.
"Don't be ridiculous, I'm from the Donquixote Family. I won't join your pirate group. Besides, the young master will find you soon, and then you'll be dead," Baby5 said, refraining from attacking Lucifer again. She knew the vast gap between them made it impossible for her to kill him.
"You never know what the future holds. I said you are my maid, and so you are. Now, I need you to be my maid. Do you agree?" Lucifer responded with a slight smile.
"Yes, I agree. I..." Baby5's face became stiff as she realized she had actually agreed. She wanted to slap herself for her inability to refuse others.
"Hahaha, you're truly interesting," Lucifer remarked, feeling satisfied with his decision to let Baby5 come aboard. Although she wasn't strong in battle, she was undoubtedly the most suitable candidate for the role of a maid.
"Cavendish, set sail and head to the next destination," Lucifer ordered, putting down his glass.
"And where is the next destination?" Cavendish asked.
"Mock Town. We're going to find another partner."
......
On the shore of Crescent Island, three Marine warships docked, and a team of Marines landed, making their way to the island's center.
Before them were ruins, the town consumed by flames. Burned wood emitted black smoke, and a disgusting smell of blood hung in the air.
"Admiral Kizaru, we've searched the entire Crescent Island. It is nearly destroyed, and no trace of pirates was found. They killed them all ," a Marine officer reported respectfully.
"Well~, that's quite terrible. Why did he destroy a small island?" Kizaru said , his face still bearing that laid-back expression.
"Can you estimate how many pirates died?" he asked.
"I cannot make an accurate judgment, but it is estimated that there were at least tens of thousands of people," the Marine officer responded in a deep voice.
"Tens of thousands of people? It seems we are too late," Kizaru remarked, looking out at the distant sea with a hint of heaviness in his eyes.
This time, he had lead a team to chase Lucifer out to sea and came to Crescent Island based on the clues. However, they again arrived one step too late.
Lucifer was gone, leaving behind a ruined and dilapidated town.
The town had been demolished to the ground, with flames everywhere and numerous massive holes everywhere.
Upon seeing the battlefield , Kizaru is 100% certain that Lucifer's flash power is on par with his own. He didn't know about his Haki level, but Lucifer is undeniably a super-strong pirate, unmatched by any low or mid rankers.
"Send back the news and order various Marine branches closely track down Lucifer's whereabouts. At the same time, tell higher-ups to increase Lucifer's bounty," Kizaru ordered, his expression unusually serious.
"Yes, Lord Admiral," the Marine officer saluted respectfully and immediately proceeded to contact headquarters via the Den Den Mushi.
However, as soon as the officer started the call, Kizaru reverted to his usual nonchalant expression.
"Such a nuisance. How I find this kid. Catching him means the old man's vacation has to be ruined once again. And who knows if I'll ever catch him? If I keep chasing him without success, the old man will make me work overtime every day," Kizaru mourned.
That stingy Sengoku never paid him overtime for the extra work. Next time, he would definitely ask for a raise.
"Otherwise, I might as well resign. I envy Vice Admiral Garp. He fishes every day without working and earns a high salary. If I had known I would have to work overtime for 24 hours, I wouldn't have agreed to be promoted to Admiral," Kizaru thought as he gazed blankly at the sea in the distance, he felt heavy burden.
However, to the Marine soldiers standing next to him, Admiral Kizaru appeared unwavering and determined in his pursuit of pirates. His eyes were glowing, leaving a lasting impression.
In that moment, many Marine soldiers secretly made up their minds to learn from Admiral Kizaru. They would emulate his determination and work overtime, catching pirates 24/7 without rest.
